    1. Jonez says:

The beef was suppose to hurt drake … it only help!

    1. Iamstillmusic says:

      In sales not quality

  2. Kingly_Caracter says:

Damn… Dis nigga stay winning, Congrats.

  3. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

The sad thing is that this is the ONLY rap album to go platinum this year. SMH.

    1. Jonez says:

Kendrick or cole aint go plat? i kno they atleast near platinum status?

      1. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

        Cole was released last year.

I think Kendrick is gold or passed it.

        1. Belize says:

Kdot got no platinum type singles on his album in all honestly.

          1. yoyo says:

To say that I know where your heads at, Its becaus eyou listen to faggots and not the real.

          2. Belize says:

No I’m a realist. Not living in lala land where unicorns and leprechauns run around freely like where you live.

I fucks with kdot but to go plat nowadays you need a club single or something to get hella spins. Which is a struggle now in 2015 and why do lotta artist go plat off singles compared to albums

          3. Tbh says:

That’s wrong cuz Cole just went Platinum with no club singles….no features either

          4. Belize says:

            #LightSkinnedTheory LOL

          5. marty mcfly says:

GOMD and Wet Dreamz are close enough to be club singles. Cole is a pop star, he don’t need singles to sell. He’s Drake just without singing.

          6. ilexx says:

So Cole is a Pop star now too?

Cole definitely has a major fanbase and can move way more units than these wack rappers now a days but I would say its a stretch to say he is a Pop star.

He has at least done everything he has done in the most Hip Hop way possible.

          7. marty mcfly says:

I’d say yeah, I mean he aint Killer Mike. I don’t see how he’s not a pop star when he checks all the boxes needed to be called one. He started his career on tour with Rihanna and he has more love songs as singles then Drake does. He was just singing his love to Janet Jackson like last week…

          8. ilexx says:

Him opening up for Rihanna was more of a smart move by Roc Nation but ok.

Check those numbers again, how does he have more love song singles then Drake? Just off top you do remember Drake has ‘Find Your Lovin’ and ‘We’re Going Home’, those are just two of the biggest. Shit Drake had Take Care featuring ammm.. Rihanna right? Lol

          9. marty mcfly says:

Yeah I remember those two Drake songs and I also remember like 10 different songs dedicated to women as singles from Cole.

          10. ilexx says:

If you want to say “Work Out”, “Can’t Get Enough”, “Nobody’s Perfect”, then ok but those were the three singles from his first album. He admitted he was trying to chase the whole “right single” scenario at that time. Are any of those songs really Pop songs though?

Then there is “Power Trip”, which is a love note to Hip Hop disguised as a love-ish song. That’s really some slick Hip Hop shit if you ask me.

I can’t see J. Cole as an example of a Pop star because he really did some Hip Hop shit, wrote and produced majority of his shit too.

All the stuff you would say is love song-ish, all have Hip Hop drums.

He ain’t Killer Mike but he ain’t any less Hip Hop dan Killer Mike tho.

          11. marty mcfly says:

Oh no, he’s very much so less Hip Hop then Killer Mike and I didn’t say Cole was an example of a pop star, I said he was a pop star and I only said it because he is.

          12. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

Can’t Get Enough” and “Nobody’s Perfect” are great songs

          13. ilexx says:

That’s exactly how I feel. Just great music and its def Hip Hop.

          14. Belize says:

None of those are his “popcorn singles”. Ask any non hip hop fan who J. Cole is and see what they say.

Also helps he has that Roc Nation machine that has really been better than Interscope since they went full beats by Dre.

Hopefully ComptonCompton changes this and gives TDE/Kdot extra juice

          15. marty mcfly says:

Yeah they more like cotton candy singles.

          16. Belize says:

            Pop means Popular

Doesn’t have to mean Justin Beiber type…J. Cole is pop he got the chicks in the bag. #LightSkinnedTheory

          17. Dark Matters says:

J Cole went plat. Did he have a club single?

          18. Iamstillmusic says:

            Alright is a platinum single

          19. Belize says:

i agree…let’s see if the masses will cop tho

          20. ImKing says:

I agree, but I think “These Walls” is his #1 from this album.

        2. Young Fry King says:

642k as of last month.. it could go plat.. but probably not until next year… or a These Walls video

          1. ImKing says:

It will go platinum when he start touring. I agree with the These Walls video.

        3. Gmillz says:

Wiki says 600k. For being out 5 months, I’m guessing that’s good?

          1. radio raheem says:

that album is just misuderstood by the masses

        4. Sean Power says:

meek is platinum ? all money bars and money stack pictures he most gone 2 time platinum

    2. ImKing says:

Very sad and the album was not all that..

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

        The mixtape was mediocre

        1. ImKing says:

Why is everybody calling it a mixtape? It was an album.

          1. Iamstillmusic says:

            True, it was an album

          2. Yamzz says:

Prob cuz it was mixtape material on it

          3. Sean Power says:

it was 1st release as mix-tape

      2. Birdman says:

It was a mixtape that we sold!

      3. fullyautomatic says:

Especially if Quentin Miller was da real 6 God

        1. George Dillon says:

and what if he had/has a ghowtwriter? so does probably the 90% of the industry tbh, they just “exposed” the best of them

          1. fullyautomatic says:

Just don’t say he’s an lyricist now…he’s pop foh

          2. George Dillon says:

i didn’t say anything like that, i just gave my opinion. I honestly don’t give a fuck about this whole situation, i’ll still listen to him

          3. fullyautomatic says:

            Yeah me too

      4. radio raheem says:

That’s why it went platinum right ?

        1. ImKing says:

So when does going platinum makes anything good? ARE U FUCKING KIDDING ME. PeAcE!!!

          1. radio raheem says:

Peace… And Well my opinion is that I don’t think any trash ass album has a high enough chance to go platinum… If you look at the list of platinum hip hop albums they were good albums… So in conclusion It’s good because the artist made something that made a million people want to spend their hard earned money especially during these hard times.. on buying or streaming – *internet era* the album … So that’s why it’s good…

    3. marty mcfly says:

Word and people saying this is like one of the best years in Hip Hop… Them years is behind us.

      1. Jonez says:

dudes only worried bout first week sales nowadays smh.

        1. marty mcfly says:

No, the comment was about the first 20 something weeks of this year.

      2. ilexx says:

The best years are far behind us but in terms of good albums and sales wise. This has been a pretty good year compared to last year.

We got Lupe, Big Sean, Wale, Kendrick and a host of others. Shit we even got a Luda album that wasn’t that bad if you listened.

The industry has Wayne on his toes again putting out some of the best stuff he has done in years.

We got Meek Mill and Future for the streets and those who want to live the trap life vicariously through their music. Things got shaken up and we had Meek vs Drake.

Now we got Compton, Dr. Dre has released an album, that’s gotta count for so much right now.

2013 was a good year in recent memory too but this year we got good music and a little excitement. It almost feels like things could get exciting in Hip Hop again. And we still got 4 months to go.

        1. marty mcfly says:

If you think this was a good year sells wise? I’d have to disagree. Its too many people listening to Hip Hop for only like 2% of it to be reflected in numbers. I did listen to Luda’s album and I thought it was better then most of everybody else’s shit.

          1. CashlessClay says:

Krit had his release last year bro! smh!

Plus Joey had good first week numbers for a rushed release!

And Spitta always releases Music free to perform it and cash in via show money! He only releases Albums to satisfy the label! Listen to the JuanEp with him a couple of years back! He cuts a song puts a light mix on it and gives it to the people! Check your Facts BOI

          2. marty mcfly says:

I know Krits album was last year… The comment is about fans of certain artists not supporting their album. Joey had a good first week but its more Joey Badass fans that waited for the album, listened to it, liked it and did not support it. There is no excuse ofr Curren$y. The JETS have to be the worst fans in Hip Hop, its all good to support shows but if one of your favorite artists gives you 100 plus free songs and then asks you to support an album and you don’t show up? There aint no excuse for that. His album aint just to satisfy the label, its also to elevate his career and his worth as an artist.

          3. marty mcfly says:

Lol when I listed KRIT, I thought maybe I should say I know it came out last year but then I thought nobodies gonna be dumb enough to address that when clearly there is a larger point. Smh

        2. MIKEY ESCO!!! says:

WOULD YOU STFU WITH THIS BS!!! FK YO FEELINGS!!!

        3. radio raheem says:

          Well said

          1. marty mcfly says:

He didn’t say anything. He said this was a good year in SALES and its still only 1 platinum album all year.

          2. radio raheem says:

He clearly just said something in 8 lines by explaining… You now just summarized what he explained….

          3. marty mcfly says:

No he didn’t. He talked about a bunch of other rappers that didn’t go platinum either in a conversation about the numbers in which he said was a good year in sales? No. I understand he was talking about the music being good but he knew I was referring to only 1 album going platinum thus far this year because thats what this post is about. He simply talked about another subject as if it negated the topic at hand. I think not.

    4. ilexx says:

The worst part to me is the way the landscape is looking, if he releases Views this year, he may have the only two platinum albums in Hip Hop this year.

He would be feeling himself on another lvl.

    5. CashlessClay says:

But only if you count away the streaming part! Which lets be honest took a big part of the usual record sells! Plus Cole got next! He at 975k

    6. Dawson416 says:

It’s also the first album in all 2015 (every genre) to hit the 1 million mark

      1. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

        Really?! Geesh!

        1. Ess Tramontana says:

She didn’t come out with anything this year

          1. Potus says:

Yeah caught that but I’m not about deleting shit ha

    7. Ced says:

Not really considering only 1 other artist went plat this yr. Sales down in every genre and never going to be as high as they were. Still good music to listen to.

    8. LēTeck says:

Also the best album of the year.

    9. PREMERE says:

J cole went plat with fhd.

Edit: my bad fhd dropped in december.

    10. FACTS!!! says:

Drake backed by Jimmy and Dre! Apple/beats just gave Dre $20 million for OVO sound! Drake got a deal to Jordan! He a part of the NBA with the Raptors! Drake got a deal Sprite! And Verzion! He’s backed by Cash Money! Young Money! Lil Wayne! Baby! Universal! Rap-A-Lot! J. Prince! I can keep going! You gotta be HOV! To kill DRAKE!!!

      1. BR says:

Drake is backed by the white power structure outside of J. Prince. When are we as Black people going to create, own, & distribute for ourselves. Amazing what Drake has been able to do for himself in business, but in the end when are Black people going to wake up & get from under the BEAST?

    11. BO2BROLIC says:

J cole on his way but yes its sad only a few rappers no more than 5 can boast about platinum albums in the last 5 year’s & no more than maybe 20 have even reached gold

    12. factsonly2015 says:

how can it be? J cole went platinum this year as well!!!!!!

      1. Sean Power says:

        his album came out 2014

    13. JamesTheNiggaHatingDolphin says:

2014 Forest Hills Drive went platinum this year, though it came out in December 2014.

  4. Adam Jones says:

6 God keeps winning. Project was a mixtape as well…

  5. Los says:

    King Drizzy keep going

  6. Da Business says:

    Meanwhile, Meek is somewhere yelling,

    “THIS IS SOME BULLSHIT”…

  7. Pill Cosby™ says:

Quinten Miller’s If You’re reading this it’s too late goes platinum , just kidding.

  8. ImKing says:

Mediocrity always seems to find a way to win. The industry has lost all credibility, especially in hip hop.

    1. Jay says:

      Lol you done crying?

    2. Just Sayin' says:

You should direct your anger towards the fans because they’re the ones responsible for his albums sales! Just sayin’

      1. ImKing says:

I’m not angry.Again, I must say being opinionated and truthful is a form of hate these days. I WILL BE THE FUCKING BAD GUY THEN.

        1. Just Sayin' says:

I never stated that you were “hating”?! You clearly don’t seem happy with it though and just because you aren’t doesn’t mean that you’re hating! It’s your opinion.

          1. ImKing says:

I’m here having fun just like you.

  9. it JUST hit Platinum? that’s strange… i thought it hit platinum by the end of its first month. Didnt it hit Gold 1st week?

    1. hah says:

it’s been platinum for a bit because of the new streaming rules, this is pure sales

      1. thanks! is that digital and physical copies?

        1. hah says:

          ya pure sales is physical+digital.

  10. Mr.Stealyogurl says:

Drake going for two number #1 ‘s this year!! He’s killing it can’t hate.

Sidebar: Kendrick and Cole need to stop playing and do that collab and get that money
That’s a easy platinum and arena tour

    1. Jonez says:

A joint album with k dot n cole wpuld be a dream come true!

      LETS MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

    2. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

easy…i was just thinking about that earlier.

    3. brza says:

I would pass out from excitement if this album ever happened

  11. Quentin Miller Killed this shit! Props! another plaque for QM

  12. hah says:

    platinum off a mixtape

  13. Jay says:

Niggas stay hating and Drake just keeps winning lol shit is hilarious.

    1. ImKing says:

I guess being opinionated and truthful these days is a form of hate. I’ll be the fucking Bad Guy then.

  14. IDGT says:

Drake Kendrick Jcole runnin this rap shit all you other niggaz needa step up!

  15. Iamstillmusic says:

This was a mediocre mixtapeand Drakes worst project. Majority of the songs were like a recreation of worst behavior but props for going platinum

    1. ImKing says:

When I look back over Drake catalog I find nothing that draws me in or move me. I guess it’s just me.

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

Neither do I. He will always sell the most records because of the female crowd. His subject matter will always be crying over women

        1. ImKing says:

It gotta be deeper than that. It’s something else going on.

          1. ilexx says:

I really don’t think it’s anything deeper than what we can all see on the surface.

Drake’s really the most marketable product in “Hip Hop” right now. I said this year’s ago but in no way did I envision the dominance having this much disparity.

Drake is a light-skinned, non-threating guy who raps and sings. People underestimate the rap/singing combination and I don’t get why, its like a superpower.

Instead of rappers releasing your street single as the b-side to your radio single. Drake can release a club record and a RnB/Pop single and both can get serviced to radio on multiple formats.

Then, his content, lyrics and delivery are relatable and digestable to the average person.

I could see how ppl may have thought Drake would have been a hard sell at first but ever since Kanye beat 50 in a sales battle, the consumers chose good music over street authenticity. Rap was allowed to be whatever it wanted.

It’s hard to beat Drake in this climate. The only new school cats who even have a chance is J. Cole & Kendrick. But they have to have the right label support to do it.

          2. ImKing says:

Yes I agree with the light-skinned non-threatening ideology, but anybody can be marketable with the right team. Kendrick & J. Cole by far the best we have.

          3. ilexx says:

I definitely agree that everybody can be marketable. If you find the right way to tell pieces of their story and it resonates with a particular audience.

But I’m just speaking from a strictly corporate standpoint and on paper Drake seems like the more marketable product.

I whole heartedly agree though that Cole and Kendrick are the best we got though. They can also touch ppl on a lvl that Drake can’t, their stories are very real and tangible. Drake’s entire catalog is relatable but doesn’t feel all the way real, if that makes sense.

          4. ImKing says:

You said the key words “doesn’t feel real” because it’s not real. His music has no soul and he is a novelty artist . I’m not hating,I’m voicing my thoughts on Drizzy Drake.

          5. ilexx says:

We in agreement trust me. I don’t see it as hate.

You can tell when somebody is really hating, when you just make a negative statement just for the sake of it, with no perspective, that’s likely hating right there.

            I see your prospective homie.

          6. ImKing says:

Now watch when he drop his new album (6 God) in October,it’s gonna sell very well in the first week,it might even go platinum because apple is behind it. Dr Dre album is apple first test subject.

          7. CashlessClay says:

Ahh okay so we act like Kdot and Therapist dont have endorsements?? Puma, Reebok, BeatsbyDre, Tidal!!! Check your facts BOI

          8. ImKing says:

I never said that. MAKE SURE YOU READ BEFORE JUMPING IN PLAYBOI.

        2. marty mcfly says:

Drake has records for people that wanna get into some real shit too… Too Much, Successful, The Calm, The Ride etc… but when it comes to females buying his record, he’s only giving them what they want. Females are also buying Cole’s and Kendrick’s album while alot of dudes have not and while alot Joey Badass, Lupe, Wale, Currensy, Raekwon, Asap Rocky, King Los fans didn’t buy their albums either.

          1. Iamstillmusic says:

Every song you mentioned that was ‘real’ was on a different album. I doubt anybody bought those albums cuz of one song his main appeal is RnB

It will always be RnB and without RnB he won’t have a career. I still give him props for going platinum though

          2. marty mcfly says:

Whatever the reason is they still bought it. Why Kendrick aint sell more then Drake? How many dudes is on Kendrick’s nuts but didn’t buy the album? Its more then a million dudes listening to Kendrick’s album.

          3. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

            Do u bump Drake?

          4. marty mcfly says:

Fuck no but if the numbers are what they are then I’m just commenting on the reality of the situation.

          5. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

LOL, Hey i don’t knock his music, just don’t do nothing for me, so i ask my nephew and his friends, “Who ya’ll bumpin, Drake” Nah, i like a couple of his song, but Nah. So who is buying his music, must be females.

          6. marty mcfly says:

Its dudes buying his albums too. I don’t know why any man would feel insecure about it because thats girlish itself. Its dudes riding around listen to 6PM in NY, 6 God, Used to, 6 Man etc… Its no need for any dudes to be ashamed of it because those songs knock. I personally don’t bump Drake’s music because I just don’t (I’m more likely to be listening to the latest Gangrene,Cannibal Ox or Skyzoo shit) but I feel no kinda way about dudes that bump his shit. I mean Drake makes music for dudes that get pussy so I don’t see what the problem is. I mean I might put on Dom Kennedy before Drake but its the same shit, music about getting pussy. Yes its more females buying Drakes music but its also alot of Hip Hop heads NOT buying real Hip Hop.

          7. Selorm Amuzu says:

            That is exactly right !

          8. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

            Nah.

          9. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

U giving your opinion, I’m giving mines, nothing more, nothing less, Kendrick fans base is not like Drake’s and that just fact, everybody got different fans, if they did the records sell would be the same if not similar. now why fans ain’t buying is a different issues. If a brother need drake to get pussy, then I can’t help them with that.

          10. marty mcfly says:

We know for a fact that Kendrick has s huge fan base and many of them did NOT buy his album. In that aspect, its not just my opinion talking. Its something we can just assume as fact. There are millions of people following what Kendrick does and only a portion showed up at the stores for his albums.

          11. Selorm Amuzu says:

I have been saying this for the longest now, people will act like going platinum ain’t shit till their favourite artist gets one…would ppl say the same thing if Kendrick went platinum ?

          12. marty mcfly says:

Word its a few million Kendrick fans out there… MOST of them did NOT buy any of his albums. Drake wins

          13. Selorm Amuzu says:

And here’s a fun fact, Kendrick, J.Cole and Drake all share similar fanbases, you mean to tell me Cole can go Platinum, Drake can go PLatinum but Kendrick can’t ???

          14. marty mcfly says:

Kendrick has more then a million fans so fuck platinum, he need to be going multiple platinum… I didn’t say Kendrick can’t go platinum. I’m saying a huge number of Kendrick dickriders don’t actually buy his albums.

          15. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

Don’t think Kendrick or Cole really aim for platinum status. Only person make money off of albums sales are record label, which i’m sure u know.

          16. Selorm Amuzu says:

We know they don’t hell i don’t think Drake does aswell IMO but at the same time you can’t get mad when your piece of work exceeds your expectations in terms of success

          17. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

Never denied that it did, but when people comment about Drake, people says you’re hating, when people comments on Kendrick same thing. it’s just amazes me the division of our people over 2 artists, when both are good at what they do.

          18. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

If Kendrick went platinum, we know his album cross over, which would be special because the overall concept of his album. Nothing more or less. Are u bumpin Drake?

          19. marty mcfly says:

We still know there is well over a million people listening to Kendrick’s music on both sides of the cross over…

          20. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

I don’t think so( but i could be wrong) Even his first album sold slow, took it awhile to go platinum, which this one will too, but it really don’t mean nothing, the last person that really made money off of an album was MJ (RIP) and he’s was getting anywhere from $1 to $2 bucks an album.

          21. marty mcfly says:

You don’t think so what? How many people you think I there has listened to Kendrick music, likes it and did not buy it? Comeonnow. MJ aint the last one to make money off an album. Drake still getting money off his albums, he signed a distribution and promo deal with Cash Money. Furthermore some would say Section 80 was Kendrick’s first album and an ocean of dickriders got online talking about how great it was and a small fraction of them actually bought it. Drake wins because the MAJORITY of Kendrick fans don’t buy Kendrick’s music.

          22. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

Drake said he hadn’t receive any money from cash money. Do you know how many hands goes through that money before the artist get any. This is not about Kendrick or Drake, Look at the album releases that came out this year. Albums sales are horrible, and artist doesn’t see any profit til the label recoup. All theses albums coming out from under umbrellas, Universal, Atlantic, and Warner Bros are the big winners, and they are losing. it’s predicted that by 2020, record label will be no more.

          23. marty mcfly says:

So what? None of that has anything to do with the number of Kendrick fans that listen to his music every day, week and month but don’t buy his records. Blaming the record label for some artists deal that none of you read anyway isn’t an excuse for not supporting the artist that many of these fans would say is their favorite. When you buy an album, it doesn’t just help the label, it indeed helps elevate the artist in multiple aspects of his career. So just talking about the record company aint gonna change nothing about what I said.

          24. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

Come on marty, it has all to do in the conversation. big number means larger sponsors which mean larger areas to tour, nothing more nothing less. If u think i’m lying do the research, see how much money any artist get on an album sale.(from a Label) Why u think the 360 deal has come in to play.

          25. marty mcfly says:

What I’m saying is your comments about record deals has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. I don’t know why your talking about what an artist gets. We don’t know if Kendrick and Drake have 360 deals so why are we talking about their deals? My point is this. Do alot of people listen to Kendrick? YES. Do many of them NOT buy his albums? YES. THAT is why Drake sells more then him. The females that Drake has in fans, Kendrick has in “real Hip Hop heads”. Not too mention a bunch of females and pop fans that follow his music.

          26. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

i give up, man u giving Kendrick fans that he just don’t have.

          27. marty mcfly says:

Shit bruh, the net reaches alot of people and its so many millions of people listen to Hip Hop music its ridiculous so when Kendrick comes out? Its millions of people that are listening… And many of them got the nerve to say they fans but don’t have one physical copy of his albums. They gave Drake the win as far as albums sells imo.

          28. Selorm Amuzu says:

I downloaded Drake’s album and bought Kendrick (I’m prepared to show you proof if you don’t believe me)

          29. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

No, my brother, i believe u. i think he’s talented in what he does, but he’s shows no growth, other than that i have nothing bad to say bout dude. Here a fun fact for u, Qunicy Jones said that in the 80’s Record label was selling 4 million records through the weekend, that 3 days.People wanna cry record sales are different today, but paying musician for recording a record was expensive back then so it average out bout the same. now u basically can make and album on your laptop.

          30. Selorm Amuzu says:

Exactly so by that logic, if you create a quality album from your computer and manage to send it out directly to your fans and they know it’s dope by at least streaming the thing, then there should be little to no excuse as a fan to purchase that album… Hip Hop Heads need to also admit their bullshit

          31. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

The Age of buying an album is over with. u can thank technology for that. Audio Streaming, downloading and bootlegging has taken over.So i guess u can blame that on the HIp Hop head too.

          32. Selorm Amuzu says:

Yhh I can cos there are more direct ways to purchase an album yet certain heads are lazy enough to download it for free (I am guilty of that myself but I also buy albums when I can). So they can’t get mad at ppl for actually going out to buy someone else’s albums and making them more successful

          33. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

The store are far in between, I think we have an FYI in the Mall sell physical copies, Best Buy, if u can find one. Walmart/Target usually the clean versions, and not a big selections, so you have to weigh that factor in too.

          34. ImKing says:

Kendrick will go platinum after he start his tour. Hopefully it will be announced in September.

          35. Iamstillmusic says:

Yes and the fact remains that Drake is a pop artist so his appeal isn’t as much to someone like Kdot who is an actual hip hop artist. And we all know pop sells more than hip hop. The key to album sales is women and Drake has it

          36. marty mcfly says:

Thats not an excuse. Kendrick has a huge pop audience as well and he has a million plus “hip hop” fans and most of then did NOT buy the album but a be quick say how great it was.

          37. marty mcfly says:

Kendrick is a pop artist too. Pop means an artist who falls within the realm of “popular culture”… I know people just think of pop music but a pop artist is someone who s extremely “pop”ular. Kendrick is that.

          38. Iamstillmusic says:

Nah my definition of pop is songs like Hold on We’re going home, songs like jungle, cellphone, my side

Songs that can’t be defined as hip hop in any way. Like I said Drake will always be more popular because he sings to women about heartbreak. Without singing Drake won’t have a career so it’s unfair to compare him to K Dot who drops straight rap albums.

Yes 1 millions listen to them but pop fans buy more music than actual rap fans

          39. marty mcfly says:

We not talking about your definition of pop because when I say “pop” many people are gonna think “popular” artists in “pop culture” which Kendrick is. So your definition is fine but that doesn’t take nothing away from what I’m saying. The point is when Kendrick’s drops an album he’ll be on every major platform of entertainment including the ones in the pop world which is why he performed on Ellen in a nice little sweater. Lets not pretend Kendrick is not that. It does not matter if Drake is more popular because if we had to estimate how many people are Kendrick fans, it would be well into the millions. Yes pop fans buy more records then actual rap fans and that includes Kendrick as well. I bet most of the people buying his music are pop fans so anyway you wanna look at it the reason Drake sells more is because “the real Hip Hop heads” that call Kendrick one of their favorites did NOT buy his album. I know its a bunch of you that listen to his album ten times already but did NOT buy the album. YOUR the reason Drake sells more then him.

          40. Iamstillmusic says:

No sir you are incorrect. By your definition every mainstream artist is pop which is simply untrue. Artists like Krit, Cole, and Kendrick aren’t pop because the type of music isn’t pop. It’s hip hop but they get on shows like Ellen to promote their albums

If you don’t like the word pop let me use RnB. Drake will always sell more records because he is an RnB artist who occasionally raps. Singing has always been his appeal and it always will be. That’s been my point. So how can you compare singing to straight Rap like Kendrick. Whoever appeals to the most women and pop fans win.
Now go and tell that’s it mostly women who bought K. Dots album as well.

          41. marty mcfly says:

Even the pop debate means nothing. Why? because thats besides the point. You keep talking about Drake when my comments are about other artists and specifically I’m speaking on Kendrick because a bunch people keep saying they fans. Lets do this to make this shit easy for you to understand. If Kendrick has 4 million fans and 2 million say that he has one of their favorites? Then does Kendrick have enough fans to sell more the Drake? YES. Why? didn’t he? because the majority of those kendrick fans did NOT buy his album. Now you can jump into what “pop” means or how many females listen to Drake (as if females don’t also listen to Kendrick) but none of that changes any aspect of anything I said. I’m not comparing Kendrick to Drake, I’m saying a bunch of Kendrick fans do NOT buy his albums because if the ones claiming to be Kendrick fans did? He would outsell Drake. The reason Drake sells more is because a huge number of Kendrick fans are full of shit. They claim to be fans and do NOT buy his albums. THATS the point I’m making.

          42. Iamstillmusic says:

Well the point you are making is invalid because of the point I was trying to make! Most fans don’t buy music! That’s reality! And if you want to sell the most records you will appeal to females who buy more records than the average male or people who like pop music because pop music sells more than any genre

Hiphop is the most listened to genre in the world according to Spotify but country music, pop music (Justin timberlake, Katy perry, Taylor swift) still sell more records. That’s reality. So yes if every fan of an artist bought an album every mainstream artist would go platinum but that’s not the case. The case is who you appeal to

          43. marty mcfly says:

If now your saying most fans don’t buy music? That only reinforces my comments cause that includes Kendrick’s fans. Now you say you have to appeal to females” A huge portion of Kendrick’s fans are females and on top of that, a bunch of “Hip Hop heads” claim to be fans of his music to so now whats the excuse? You act as if females don’t buy Kendrick’s music? Alot of them do and on a larger note, females don’t just all listen to love songs ok. There are females that listen to “real Hip Hop” too. Now your saying Hip Hop is the most listened genre in the world and your bringing up Spotify? Didn’t Kendrick break some kinda record on there? Like the shit your saying only backs up what I said because you saying you have to appeal to people? well evidence suggests that Kendrick does appeal to people and alot of people at that and MOST of them did NOT buy his album. Drake sold a million copies of his album and there are a million plus people who listening to Kendrick’s album.

          44. Iamstillmusic says:

You’re not listening. Females listen to every genre of music, yes. But Drake consistently drops RnB songs strictly for them. Drake made a career off of singing women so stop acting like its the same thing. Love wins over conscious music so Drake will always sell more than Kendrick. I’m sure your next post will be how Kendrick also drops love songs for women

          45. marty mcfly says:

You keep talking about females listening to Drake. What your not getting is that females also listen to Kendrick. In this specific instance, Drake has sold a million copies… POTENTIALLY there are MILLIONS people that have Kendrick’s album and there are potentially MILLIONS of people who liked he album or go so far as to call themselves FANS and many of them happen to be FEMALE, on top of that Kendrick has a bunch of HIP HOP HEADS listening to his shit as well. The MAJORITY of them did NOT buy Kendrick’s album which is why he has not sold more then a million copies of TPAB. Now understand ANYTHING you say does not effect the end result of this comment. It will only reinforce why it is what it is.

          46. Iamstillmusic says:

What you said you have already stated because you can’t read English.

Yes there s lot of Kendrick fans who didn’t buy his album! I know that! Everyone knows that! But Drake is an RnB rapper! Whoever appeals to more women and white people sell more records because women and white people buy more records than real hip hop heads. Does that make sense to you?

Let me explain again. Women and white people buy more albums than real Hiphop heads. Drake appeals to more women so he will sell higher than any rapper who is solely Hiphop. Is there anything that wasn’t clear to you?

Because your next response will be the same as your first post. There are Kendrick fans who didn’t but his album and they are more than a million. But because women like Drakes music more he will always sell more.

          47. marty mcfly says:

Yes there are alot of Kendrick fans that did NOT buy his album. Thats exactly what I was saying. So what you gotta say don’t matter when my comment was about Kendrick. And again. Kendrick has females and white people and pop fans as well and he has a million fans Drake doesn’t have which is hip hop heads. That didn’t wanna buy his fucking album.

          48. Iamstillmusic says:

I clearly stated that women and white people buy more albums than the average hip hop head. If you think Kendrick has as many white people or especially women fans than Drake let’s stop the argument right here

          49. marty mcfly says:

Again, women and white people are also fans of Kendrick’s music so when you say they buy more albums? Good because Kendrick has alot of whites and women as fans. Again you stupid fuck, this aint a comparison to Drake, this is about Kendrick having MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF FANS THAT DID NOT BUY HIS ALBUM.

          50. Iamstillmusic says:

You sir are the definition of a dumbass. If Rick Ross drops an album females will listen to it but they won’t be encouraged to buy it the way they would buy a Justin beiber CD. Do you know why?

Because love sells more than actual hip hop. Drake drops love songs that Justin beiber or Bruno Mars would drop. No other rapper does that. I feel like I’m explaining this to a 5 year old.

So yes, Drake will always sell more than Kendrick because he drops songs MADE for women which Kendrick doesn’t do. The average women buys more albums about love than hip hop heads with conscious music. Dumbass

          51. marty mcfly says:

Even with that example, if Rick Ross female FANS don’t buy his music? Thats not Justin Beiber’s business. So again, when you bring up Drake as to reasons why Kendrick FANS aint buying his shit at a higher percentage, that changes nothing about anything after you argue that point. I’m gonna tell you this again, KENDRICK HAS FEMALE FANS TOO and probably enough to go platinum… So when you say shit about females, IT DOES NOT MATTER. Kendrick also has a fanbase that Drake does not have, which is “hip hop heads” and many of them don’t buy his shit either and many of them call themselves FANS of his music you stupid fuckin faggot.

          52. marty mcfly says:

Again dumb bitch, this isn;t about Kendrick selling more. THIS IS ABOUT KENDRICK FANS THAT DO NOT BUY HIS FUCKING ALBUM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU FUCKING BITCH.

          53. marty mcfly says:

If you are a Kendrick FAN? and you did not buy his last two albums? You are partly to blame for why Drake sells more then him.

          54. Music says:

Drake fans apparently do if he has 10 million sold.

            Jay fans clearly do.
            Kanye fans clearly do.
            Taylor Swift fans clearly do.
            Coldplay fans clearly do.

To say most fans don’t buy music as a blanket statement is just foolish.

And Hip Hop actually sells more records in this day and age since it over threw rock some odd years ago.

Your arguements are really all over the place.

No one is obligated to buy your record. Your music either really resonates or it doesn’t. If you aren’t moving units why blame the competition?

          55. Iamstillmusic says:

Bro I can’t even argue with you, this was about Kendrick and Drake. Drake will always sell more because at heart he’s an RnB artist and you know it. These debates get tiring

          56. Music says:

drake went platinum off a free mixtape with every song charting on the charts.

K Dot raps circles around Drake on a technical level. On a musical level? Look up at the scoreboard.

          57. Iamstillmusic says:

In a musical level Drake will always sell more records and have all the songs on the billboard but personally I didn’t care because that was his worst project and he makes the same 3 songs over and over

          58. Music says:

Pop music means POPular Music doofus.

            Cole is definitetly pop.

Krit and K Dot? Not so much.

And when does Ellen prove if something is hip hop or not?

Dude you seriously need to listen to music with a more open ear. You have the 4 elements of hip hop so far up your ass you dismiss anyone who doesn’t compare their pen to a sword or some wack shit like that.

          59. Iamstillmusic says:

Stop hating bro in spitting facts. Just because a rapper is mainstream doesn’t mean they are a pop artist

Drake makes RnB records and it’s regarded rap now. Songs like hold on we’re going home wins awards over actual rap records so yes Drake is the most pop rapper I’ve ever witnessed with my own two eyes.

I’ve never seen a rapper who claims he’s the best rapper but wouldn’t have a career if he couldn’t sing. Get real bro bitches buy Drakes music and there’s nothing wrong with that

          60. Music says:

Hold On came out two years ago, its 2015.

IYRTITL was a rap album in every sense of the genre and outsold every rap project this year. It had one R&B joint called jungle. All the songs charted and broke records.

THIS WAS A FREE MIXTAPE MIND YOU.

Drake is an artist who raps. And apparently many people feel the dudes music.

We’ll just let the ‘real’ mc’s and rapper’s numbers do the talking.

          61. Iamstillmusic says:

It was a rap mixtape about what though? I’m the best. Worst behavior. He recreated the same 3 songs over and over and it didn’t appeal to me. Drake was talking on the mixtape likes he’s invincible but nah not in my books. He didn’t even write the best records on there

          62. Music says:

He did write the best records on there because Miller’s tracks are out and no one is out here bumping them.

15 chefs can cook my meal and the only thing I give a shit about is how is taste.

          63. Iamstillmusic says:

I’m guessing this whole beef happened because Drake isn’t going to be the one who erites VFT6. And if to you that’s okay then power to you

          64. Iamstillmusic says:

            *writes

          65. Music says:

If we dismissing Drake for make pop records and passing it off as hip hop then we have to dismiss K Dot for making jazz records and passing it off as hip hop.

To say only females buy Drake’s records is inaccurate and just some hater shit.

Cole went platinum, are you going to say only females bought his album? Is Cole pop?

Dope music sells, hate it or love it. Just look at the scoreboard.
Cole and Drake went platinum because people fuck with their music heavy.

How come K Dot is highly talked about on every post on here and struggling to go platinum?

You can rap better and have the best metaphors and triple entendres but if no one feels it then who cares?

          66. Iamstillmusic says:

Well you don’t seem to get it. I.Cole doesn’t drop RnB songs and neither does K.Dot so yes females buy more Drake albums. Drake made a career on selling these hoes dreams!

Drake wouldn’t have a rap career is he couldn’t sing! So it’s not the same as K.Dot rapping over Jazz instrumentals.

Kendrick will still go platinum once he goes on tour around next year and yes when it’s all said and done TPAB will be remembered for generations. The argument between Drake and K.Dot will never end but until then the fact remains the Kendrick is the best rapper alive and Drake makes the best RnB rap

          67. Music says:

            Work Out wasn’t R&B?
            Power Trip wasn’t R&B?
            Crooked Smile wasn’t R&B?

Those were R&B records, just because he doesn’t go all introspective like Drake doesn’t mean it ain’t R&B. Some of Cole’s best records are R&B joints! Lmao. And guess what? He still dope! Who cares?

K Dot tries to go R&B/Pop to cross over and guess what? He fails everytime.

            Classic Man Remix?
            Bad Blood Remix?
            That Mayer Hawthorne record?
            That corny Jasmine V record?

You just hate Drake. He is able to use R&B to sell records and it works! Cole does the same thing and it works!

K Dot is nice but extremely over hyped by his fans. TPAB is dope but not ‘let’s base an entire world tour off this’ dope. And this is coming from a guy who actually has a K Dot album in his posession. I am more of a fan than his hardcore fans.

          68. Shock says:

Cole was straight out singing on St. Tropez

          69. Music says:

            And it was fucking dope!

Yet no one here is pulling Cole’s credibility or artistry, and rightfully so because that was a dope album.

Dude was damn near getting his Stevie Wonder on Apparently and no one was calling him R&B or pop.

Hip Hop ‘fans’ are a very funny and confusing group. We’d rather limit our genre to corny 80s/90s trends than progressing artistry its ridiculous.

          70. Shock says:

            I totally feel you!

          71. Iamstillmusic says:

I don’t hate Drake but the fact is none of those songs you mentioned are RnB. Cole and Kendrick weren’t singing! I don’t have Drake but I hate his fake persona. I hate how he claims he’s the realist when he isn’t. I’m a fan of his music but his career is so heavily manipulated by the industry it just makes me resent at how nothing is authentic anymore

          72. Music says:

Cole was singing all over his last album.

Kendrick was singing/screaming/yelping/chirping/barking/quacking in his own special way on TPAB.

Real is subjective. If you cry and loathe over women in real life and have balls to show valuberability, to me that’s real. It’s just as real as if you sell crack and shoot people in real life and show it on records too.

Guess what? All these guys personas to some degree is fake. Music is an art and art is just a dramatization of the real world. And the industry is manipulating everyone/everything one way or another. It sucks of course but there is no need to get upset about it. if you can seperate the human from the art you’ll enjoy it more!

          73. Iamstillmusic says:

Respect, I guess we just have different perspectives.

          74. marty mcfly says:

He was SINGING ALL OVER HIS LAST ALBUM. LOL

        3. Smale45 says:

That’s how you stay relevant the longest. Once Drake completely milks his female fanbase, he’ll start dropping different type of records that will make him interesting again. But for now, he’s killing it and he’ll ride this wave as long as he can

          1. Iamstillmusic says:

Can’t argue with that but until then he’s just another backstreet boy that can rap

      2. BARRY WHITE THE MAESTRO says:

        No it’s not just u. i agree with u.

    2. marty mcfly says:

It doesn’t matter when the fans of dope albums don’t buy them. Drake wins again.

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

Yupp females buy more albums than real hip hop heads so I guess he is

        1. marty mcfly says:

The real hip hop heads don’t buy albums either. Its more females buying real hip hop then the heads too.

          1. Iamstillmusic says:

That’s what I’m saying, Drake will sell more than the competition because he appeals to the women

          2. marty mcfly says:

Drake will sell more because real Hip Hop heads don’t buy real Hip Hop music. Real Hip Hop heads also buy Drake albums more then they buy Ghostface albums.

          3. ilexx says:

Drake will also sell more because REAL Hip Hop doesn’t get the marketing budgets that Drake gets aswell.

          4. marty mcfly says:

Hip Hop “heads” shouldn’t need marketing to support albums they know they gonna listen to anyway. The excuse can’t be a lack of marketing for the Hip Hop head that listened to the PRhyme album ten times but didn’t buy it but still picked up Drake’s album when he didn’t have no marketing for his shit either.

          5. Selorm Amuzu says:

hell in 2015, marketing should never be blamed for poor album sales especially with soo much artists being directly in contact with artists

          6. marty mcfly says:

Word. Hip Hop heads can’t use a marketing excuse for albums that downloaded the first few seconds it came out and then listened to the shit non stop for a month after. I’m not saying buy every album you like but if anybody is gonna say they have some favorite artists? It aint no excuse for not supporting their shit.

          7. marty mcfly says:

More Hip Hop heads bought Big Sean’s album then Lupe Fiasco’s album… Hip Hop heads also are at fault for why Drake is the only rapper going platinum.

          8. Iamstillmusic says:

Or maybe Lupe is out of his prime? And hasn’t made an album that appeals to this generation? Drake sells more because of the women let’s not front

          9. marty mcfly says:

You keep talking about Drake having female fans? That means nothing if I make a comment about Lupe fans. Lupe has millions of fans and an ocean of people that show up to his tours in which he headlines all around the country so they must like his music. A bunch of people heard Tetsuo and acted like that shit was yoga flames… So any LUPE FANS that consider him as one of their favorites that listen to his albums and like them but don’t support them? There is no excuse. ANYBODY who says Kendrick is one of their FAVORITE artists but did NOT buy his album? Your the reason Drake sold more then him.

          10. Iamstillmusic says:

Dude stop the front it’s annoying. Lupe can not headline a sold your in 2015 and that’s facts. Kendrick can but his album was misunderstood by majority of the masses

Drake will always sell more because he is an RnB artist who occasionally raps. Denial isn’t a good thing. Whoever appeals to more women wins

          11. marty mcfly says:

Lupe can’t headline a show? Go look at say the last 100 shows Lupe has done, did he headline? You can’t say Kendrick’s album was misunderstood by the majority of the masses because you have not spoken with the majority of the masses who have heard it. Plus we not talking about people that don’t understand Kendrick, we talking about people that do and its ALOT more then reflected in his sells. So if you gonna say Drake sells more because of females? Also include Kendrick “fans” they did not support his album.

          12. Iamstillmusic says:

Like I said on the other post most fans don’t buy music. That’s reality. But if you can appeal to white people and women you will sell more records. Drake does that. My only point

          13. marty mcfly says:

Kendrick does appeal to white people and females, thats clear already.

          14. Savimbi says:

Not compared to drake tho. Two main factors that are/were advantageous to Drake success, 1. He already had a large teenie bopper/girl fan base from his Degrassi days ( Nickelodeon ) 2. Signing to YMCMB/CM at the height of Wayne’s fame. As in Wayne was the biggest hip hop act when he signed, and cash money the biggest hip hop label

          15. marty mcfly says:

This is not a comparison to Drake. Does Kendrick have a few million fans? YES. Did only the majority buy his album? NO. Thats the point. Whatever you say about Drake doesn’t make difference except for the fact only a portion of Kendrick fans supported his album and thats why Drake sold more. Kendrick has teenie boppers, crackers, bitches all in his fan base to. He doesn’t have to have more then Drake, the fact is he has alot of them. Drake was on Cash Money, Kendrick’s album is on Interscope/Aftermath.

          16. Savimbi says:

You are over exaggerating and talking out your ass, what makes you so certain that Kdot fans went and bought Drake albums and that’s the reason he’s selling more? You are making baseless assumptions. How do you come up w/ the notion that majority of Kdot fans didn’t buy the album when he’s already past the 600-700k mark? Isn’t that sign of a strong fan base? The low numbers are reflective of the current state of album sales, even Taylor swift “America’s sweetheart” struggled to get to a million doesn’t mean she lacks a fan base. The same 13 yr old white girls that are buying Taylor swift albums are more than likely buying Drake album also because that is the audience he also caters to, the “casual” rap fans and that is why drake is able to get to 1 million faster than Kdot. And again your statement that Kendrick fans aren’t buying his album is assinine or else he wouldn’t do the numbers he did on his first week. And my reference to cash money was due to the wAyne co sign who at the time was the biggest hip-hop act, you’re an idiot if you don’t think that it didn’t play a big part into drake success.

          17. marty mcfly says:

This is very simple man. Does K dot have more then a million fans? Yes, so did he have enough to go platinum plus? Yes, which means the majority of his fans did NOT buy his album. I don’t know what you are confused about here. All the other shit you bring up about the game or Taylor Swift or Drake does nothing to effect anything I said. Kendrick has sold alot thus far but the reality is there are MILLIONS of people listening to his music which means he could very well outsell Drake but too many of his fans are NOT buying. You say Drake gotta a Wayne cosign? Kendrick got the entire industry to cosign as well as basically the whole west coast including Dr Dre.

          18. marty mcfly says:

How many people you think got TPAB in the Itunes but didn’t buy the album?

          19. ATL says:

Or just maybe, just maybe he makes better music.. Damn yall just can’t give the homie Drake credit huh lol

          20. Iamstillmusic says:

I gave Drake credit for going platinum but I’m not gonna pretend like Drake would have a career if he couldn’t sing because he wouldn’t

    3. MrAfrika says:

So you admit you’ve listened to all of his projects…are you sure you’re not a fan of his?

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

I’m a Drizzy fan but I speak truth, this was his worst project

  16. ilexx says:

A good example of how to rape the game when you are on top.

Lyrically and conceptually some of his weakest work in my opinion but there are a few cuts that are perfect club songs on here. I can’t deny it, I hear at least three joints off this project every single time I go out.

And I’m guessing with the help he got, it may have been one of the easiest projects he has ever put together.

So congrats to him I guess.

  17. dmc says:

What about in Ca na da?

  18. L Train says:

Now where’s Weak Mill announcement for platinum? Drake won bottom line. This is what counts

    1. Faceless Hustlers says:

Weak doesnt have an announcement for Gold lol

  19. Kaybee says:

    I thought’s been platinum

    1. ilexx says:

With the sales+streaming numbers that they count now, its beeeeeen platinum but pure album sales, it just past the milli mark.

Cole about to hit it too.

  20. Reggie Bo says:

A mixtape goes platinum and Meek Mill still having trouble going gold….chalk up another win for OVO

  21. The Devastation Inc. says:

The only rap album to go platinum !
And you wonder why fetty wap on stage
    with Taylor Swift.

  22. Gage says:

@Quentin__Miller deserves the bottles now drizzy

    1. CashlessClay says:

He got his royalties for all them songs rollin in in a couple of months! Off the topic but QM got some serious Bars on his material from 2013!

  23. Sean Power says:

shout to meek who 1st album just want gold this year

  24. bcl187 says:

Fuck this P0p ass bitch…others rappers suck his dick cause they want a hit and some money too….

    1. Selorm Amuzu says:

And who’s fault is it ? the nigga for being successful or the niggas who want a piece of it ?

  25. @_illuminegro_ says:

I hate how he braggin bout this. The shit technically ain’t a mixtape cuz it was commercially released which means it went through sample clearing. Which is is something mixtapes don’t undergo. So this nigga really false braggin n yall sidin wit him.

    1. MrAfrika says:

What does that have to do with it selling a million records whether its a mixtape or an album, Platinum is Platinum.

      1. @_illuminegro_ says:

Its a cop out. Sell it as a album but but say it’s really just a mixtape and release it out the blue. That way if it doesn’t sell just say hey it was just a mixtape anyway. But if it does sell celebrate it like you didn’t really just put out a whole album

        1. MrAfrika says:

he was going to release it as a free mixtape with Drama but he was contractually obligated to release it as an album for Cash Money Records.

          1. @_illuminegro_ says:

Nooo. He has full control to choose what he wants to release it as. But if he wants to get off the label which obviously he does. He has to release it as an album for it to count. But no ones forcing him to put out an album

  26. Van Sertima says:

i hope Quentin gets his cut

    1. Music says:

He is as he is rightfully credited in the album booklet.

But most hip hop heads don’t buy albums yet alone read.

  27. Music says:

No matter how much hate you can squeeze between paragraphs or compare to K Dot, all you have to do is look at the scoreboard.

How many platinum albums K Dot has?

You can rap better technically, but if no one feels your music enough to buy the album then who cares?

  28. thedeamkid19 says:

    pop always sale

  29. Roe says:

Wow….I was waiting for news of either him or Meek selling a few more records. Damn…Meek still aint even go GOLD yet. Real Niggas don’t sell many records I guess. *sigh* Thats what happens when u do it for the streets

  30. G code says:

I see hella lames on here commenting about drake and kendricks sales. Drake sales more because he proved he’s consistently good and all his projects are dope. Kendrick album HTPAB was liteweight GARBAGE!! To many weird and fake deep raps over a lot of corny production. Fans just wanted hard as beats and substance and that lame went on some Kanye yeesuz shit. I see a lot of u lames can’t admit that. You lames can’t even admit you listen to drake as if that makes you soft and less authentic. That’s why kendricks doesn’t sell his shit ain’t good enough.

  31. Neal says:

Quinten Millers going to have a good Christmas lol facts

  32. jaja420 says:

This is the only album in general too hit 1 mil, that boy really on a run rn, it’s his game.

  33. Vurbz Fenomeno says:

damn ..how many Ls can meek take?

  34. REFRESHING VAMP SODA says:

meanwhile meeks boss officer ricky cant even go plat and meek never touched gold

    1. Mylo says:

His last two projects have yet to go gold…

  35. Big Therm says:

YO congrats to Drake, but niggas need to stop worrying about shit going platinum. The game has changed. Going platinum USED to be important. Niggas get notoriety and money differently.

  36. SapToad says:

Drake is the leader of the new school

  37. radio raheem says:

BTW HIP HOP “Experts”… HAPPY BIRTHDAY HIP HOP ! …. I’ll walk away now Lmao

  38. Go Beyond says:

Quentin Miller has some nice Royalty checks coming his way.

  39. Chan says:

I’m not hating by any means by saying this. I’m a drake fan. Not a die hard drake fan but a drake fan nonetheless. I have really enjoyed all of his albums. Take care being his all time best. I did not like this mixtape at all. I don’t like any of the songs. I think the overall style is boring and bland. It got one listen and I don’t plan to listen to it again. My issue is does anyone agree with me or did I miss something tha was truly great?

  40. Austin Wilson says:

Drake is on top. Love the track he did with Future “Where Ya At” off of his new album DS2!! http://spoti.fi/1OAAyJr

  41. Slickvic says:

Drake paid meek for that battle to push his sales over the million mark. Yea I said it
