Lil Wayne is the most influential hip hop artist of the decade. He’s hands down the greatest music artist of all time, it is incomprehensible how many things he has achieved in his long career: the awards, the platinum albums, the fame, the glory and his biggest achievement of all the haters. Haters of an artist are symbolic of their greatness once they are at an elite level such as Wayne and Tupac Shakur.

I really don’t know how to convince someone how good Wayne is because words are not strong enough, one must have a brain so developed to understand him, you really need to break everything down, I mean every single letter to understand him, that’s how good his wordplay is, his vocabulary is phenomenal, his flow is unexplainable, he’s recorded more songs than any other music artist in the history of mankind and is still able to sound different.

Different is the key word there, Wayne is different to all other artists, he’s unique, he’s original. That is what takes him so many levels above everyone else, the fact that he is unhumanlike versatile and I’m not just talking as him being versatile as an artist by performing rock, singing, and rapping. I’m talking about him being versatile as a rapper, its incredible and indescribable how he approaches the mic, how he can blow every other rapper away without letting a drop of ink touch the pad, without writing a single lyric.

Wake up to yourselves people and enjoy the presence of a legend.

        • cannon

moment? that was a long ass moment bro. plus changed the mixtape game while having that soo called moment. every mixtape you see coming out from any artist…well you can thank wayne for that. hiphop started poppin again after c3 came out. he rekindled that shit.

      • cannon

but your favorite rappers beg to differ…. if you don’t see he’s a legend then thats your problem but majority of the world knows that he is. truthfully thats all that matters for his legacy.

    • KD

      Decade???? Over Eminem??? Nah, B.

      • Iamstillmusic

        Wayne had it from 2004-2010

        • Mylo

Had what? The Crown? Where was EM, jay, and 50? Shit in 05 game was more popular than Wayne… Wayne had like from 07/08 (lollipop) to 2010/2011. Wayne like Jayz had a good artist in drake so it made it seem like he was popping longer. He had the crown but you have to remember before Wayne’s comeback, they were dead… Keep it 100 after jail Drake had the crown…

          • Iamstillmusic

Bro Wayne had it right after Carter 2 and held it till after he dropped No Ceilings. Drake didn’t get on top until after Take Care in 2011. Either way Wayne had it for about 4-5 years

          • Mylo

See bruh it’s like wrestling… Well at least how in was in 80/90s C2 Wayne was the intercontinental champ… C3 he had heavyweight championship…

Sometime a intercontinental champ can seem more popular because he on the come up…

          • Keep it n the FAMILY!!!

what’s WRONG with passing the CROWN to YOUR ARTIST?

          • Mylo

Nothing…. Shit it makes it like your run is longer…

          • cannon

true but wayne was just as popular if not more with carter 2. me living in Minnesota and witnessing weezy’s impact from up here, you cant say he wasnt hot in 05. fireman, tha mobb, money on my mind, hit em up etc. all those songs were on everybodys ringtones plus me keeping up on hiphop sites i notice a buzz easily. dude was finnessin the whole time in 05.

    • Mylo

You can argue 50 had more of an influence (mixtapes and candy songs). Wayne just had the next generation… He had the crown but he ain’t spit nothing good since them seizures homie… He had a cool run but I don’t think he could go gold in a week like drake or jcole, with a classic album he might do Kendrick or Compton numbers.

      • MIKEY ESCO!!!

DAMN YOU JUST HAD TO MENTION 50 YOU FKN RAT SOUP SIPPING BAMA!!! FKN RIDES 50 DICK LIKE A RODEO!!! HAVE YOU NO SHAME? FK YO FEELINGS!!!

        • Mylo

      • Khleel

Kendrick does better numbers than cole. Cole only had slightly better first week numbers recently because Kendricks roll out got completely fucked

      • derealcharlieclips

  • Iamstillmusic

Wayne is a certified legend and the best mixtape rapper ever. It became popular to hate him because what Lil Wayne did in his prime will never be done again. Now that he can’t hold that weight as well, people call it trash. What people don’t understand is, a rapper isn’t going to be in his prime forever, respects the legends.

    • Brak In My Brak

what did he do in his prime besides kissing that weird old guy on the mouth

      • Iamstillmusic

Dropped 2 classic albums, 3 classic mixtapes and revolutionized the mixtape game better than any rapper ever all within 5 years. That’s what he did

        • Shock

He doesn’t have two classic albums. Maybe one. And I love Wayne

          • Iamstillmusic

Tha Carter 2 and Tha Carter 3. Both critically acclaimed, both double platinum, both loved and respected.

          • Shock

Both great albums. Just not classics, imo. Not up there with the blueprints, illmatics, all eyes on me, ready to die, college drop out kinds of albums

          • Iamstillmusic

Hey, won’t even try to convince you. But they are recognized as classic bodies of work, especially Tha Carter 2 which was extremely well put together. To each his own

          • Shock

And to me, that was my problem with Wayne. Never really saw themes or cohesiveness with a lot of his albums, or songs. He never bothered to make conscious songs or songs with themes to them.He is really the only all time great that didn’t

          • Iamstillmusic

Listen to Tha Carter 2, there are very few rap albums as cohesive as that album.

As far as conscious songs Wayne has a lot with tie my hands, scarface, misunderstood, mirror, how to love, God bless America. I think what his fans are waiting for is a full conscious album which he might do with C5.

          • Shock

            How to love? Scarface? Lmao.

          • Iamstillmusic

Yupp those songs were conscious and story telling songs and creative. All Wayne has to do now is drop C5 and shut the haters up

          • Shock

Ok buddy. There is a big difference between a fan and a Stan. I’m a huge fan of Jay, but I recognize his weaknesses, and that he’ll never be the same again. You are on the Stan side with Wayne

          • Iamstillmusic

Nope on the top comment I admitted Wayne will never be the same Wayne again and that’s why he’s hated.

          • Brak In My Brak

only recognized as classic bodies of work by people born in the 90s

          • Iamstillmusic

C2 is a classic in every era of hip hop. That album was raw af. C3 was more commercial but also a classic in its own right

          • Savimbi

            Said no one ever

        • Guillaume Pilon

          Dont forget…

He was on every tracks on the radio

    • timbo00

agree with you its just sad that he had a prime…. and can’t live up to that anymore its the same with 50 cent… when you sell a million first week that is so hard to top espiecially ina dying industry so they’re always compared to their peek which isn’t fair.. I wish wayne all the best his last last 2 mixtapes were good and I hope ppl pay more attention to him

I’m sorry. 50 has sold records but he’s never been a legend. Let’s just show a bit of respect for the art form.

  • Hussle

    Drake really BODIED Meek lmaoooooooooooo

    • The ripper

Meek bodied himself trying to think he’s on the same level as the 6 God…smh… I am just waiting for Meek to talk some slick shit on the radio so Drake can drop that 3 peat on his ass.

Meek is really hiding behind Nicki. Dude should’ve responded way better than that weak ass diss he put out. Meek will never be able to recover. His 15 minutes of rap fame is through.

  • Chicago checkn in

Tune definitely a legend but for the sake of competition Meek need to get at weezy & draKe. Can’t let a dude who lip kiss his boss then says if they come for him he going out like tony which he didn’t, get away with that performance.

    • Shock

Why meek? He sucks and has no credibility

  • ATL

Dope, I wish y’all posted the video with Wayne doing the Millionare Dream song… Classic

  • L Train

I don’t know, but did this show look like a bunch of amateurs performing? For being in the game for 20+ years I thought niggas performance game would be much better then this bullshit, and btw there sound system sounded wack
