Drake runs hip hop and rap, enough said. Time and time again musicians, rappers, critics, they all praise Drake as the king of rap. It’s a fact now that Drake is the face of hip hop, it can’t be denied anymore. Learn to accept it and move on, you nerd internet virgins with no hopes of pussy.

Kendrick is average at best. To Pimp a Butterfly flopped hard. The outros / intros were overdone, his often alien voices ruin it as well. I understand embraces black culture and is prideful but it was just not done right.

Unfortunately for him, being a strong lyricist doesn’t crown you as the best artist or rapper. For one.. there are tons of stronger lyricists, but like kdot they lack the mainstream hits that people like Jay-Z and Kanye have been able to produce and not every rapper can do both.
Don’t get me wrong he’s a dope artist and has a lot of support and a good fan base, but people will support and gravitate more to what they can connect with. Which is why an artist like J Cole is bigger than he’s ever been after his last album.
I disagree though, J.Cole never got the hype Kendrick Lamar got after he dropped GKMC which had bangers on it. TPAB had fewer bangers but bangers nonetheless.
As far as the new school is concerned, there is no better rapper than K.Dot and that includes albums, verses, everything.
A lot of Kendrick fans were vocal after GKMC, but that doesn’t mean he was as popular as you’d think. But that’s subjective so I’ll talk facts to address the last thing you said.
If we’re talking bangers neither TPAB or GKMC had bangers on the level as someone like Jay-Z or Drake would put out if we’re talking strictly facts and how high the songs chart. He had good songs on both albums but not bangers, that’s not the type of artist Kendrick is.
After FHD I’m noticing a lot of people are generally saying that Cole took Kendrick’s spot at #2, but obviously that is all subjective and not a fact. However if you compare how well both albums did for example both of their week 15’s or week 20’s Kendrick is way behind Cole and that’s purely based on numbers.
