Wayne is top 10 ever. He’s the Kobe of the rap game. He’s made his mark on hip hop already and no matter how hard he goes, his sound is just outdated. With that being said, after Tha Carter V, he needs to hang it up.

    1. Kris Kompute says:

      Agreed. He’s also the 3rd Best Hip-Hop A&R of all time. #2 – Gucci. Hov is #1.

      1. keep it real says:

        motherfuckers always forget about DRE

        1. Kris Kompute says:

          Damn…sure did. He’s #2. Wayne is #4.

          1. Megamind says:

Dre is #1….Who did Hov find?? Because I can give you the REAL right now.

Kanye – Hip-Hop/Gee Roberson found him as his manager and Dame signed him…Hov didn’t want to sign him.

Rih/Ne-yo….we both already signed to the label via different A&Rs…but Jay Brown/Ta-Ta did the real development on those acts UNDER Jay’s administration as President.

            Jeezy/Ross – Shakir Steward (RIP)

            DipSet (Duke The God)

Who else would you want to give him credit for??

Dre – Snoop, Em, 50, Kendrick, Game, ….while some had a buzz already…Dre PRODUCED their biggest records for them…minus Kendrick.

All the presidents of labels always get the credit…when very few could actually tell you anything about real A&R…save for Iovine, Davis, Ehertegun (sp)…and that’s why it’s a lost art.

Wayne is #2 in my book…he has a great ear for talent!
            Gucci as well.

            Megamind

          2. Megamind says:

Who again created his own platform and buzz. Cole is 4 albums & multiple mixtapes in…How many Hov collabos have they done??

This isn’t a knock to Hov…but Wayne & Dre are A&Rs in the real sense of the word, esp being artist’s themselves. They allowed all their proteges to grow on their platforms. Something Hov didn’t do until after the artist’s were self established.

            Megamind

          3. Kris Kompute says:

Hov is the president/CEO, so he ain’t on the streets. But he has to put the machine behind you.

Just like a head coach in college sports. His assistants recruit, but he has to ok the scholarship offer. And he’s the first one to get fired if they suck.

Don’t knock Hov’s money he put behind artist’s who blew the fuck up.

          4. Megamind says:

I see you missed the WHOLE point of what I stated. Do you even know what A&R means and more importantly do??? I LOVE Hov…one of my favorite artists of all time…but I refuse to give him credit for the careers of ANY artist associated with him bc he doesn’t/didn’t break artist. He used his platform to introduce them…but they are ALL self-made, aside from Rihanna after being giving that leverage.

I know Cole’s catalog…I work for UMG…and used to work for Def Jam.
Putting money behind an artist is what ALL labels do…Hov is no different than Craig Kallman in that regard…Dre, Wayne and Gucci BROKE artists…hands on and created SUPERSTARS…esp Dre & Wayne.

Stop the Monday Morning QB shit…if you want to know the real, ask bc you never know WHO you’re talking to in this comment sections!

            Megamind

          5. Kris Kompute says:

Obviously you don’t know Cole’s catalog because you said he has 4 albums. No gives a fuck you worked as a third party promotions assistant handing out stickers and beer coozies. Your flexing is desperate and makes you look even worse because your facts are wrong.

Given your logic, Dre didn’t break shit but Snoop.

Em- dropped infinite, had a manager that was connected in the industry and got to the rap olympics before Dre.

50 – Arguably the biggest independent hip-hop star in the history of the game (sans Drake). The #1 media market in the world was anticipating his debut album. There was bidding war before he got locked up. And he signed to EMINEM, not Dre like you previously stated.

Game – was signed to Get Low records and was about to do a joint partnership with Puffy before Dre even heard of him.

You logic is flawed and idiotic. EVERY ARTIST HAS SOME BUZZ BEFORE THE SIGN WITH A MAJOR! You say you worked in the business, so you know it’s a BUSINESS. Labels want to take the lowest risk that they possibly can. So buzz is essential.

You’re an ad hominem debater who is twisting facts in order to solidify your argument. You didn’t even mention anyone else on early Roc-A-Fella.

I can’t take you serious when you contradict yourself.

          6. Megamind says:

You’re a dumb cat…no need for me to even read all that to KNOW it.
You’re doing a lot of talking and NO listening.

You’re the first and only nigga I ever heard say Hov broke artists LOL. It’s a known fact Jay eats his young! Doesn’t negate that he’s the GOAT…he just hasn’t done for his artists what Dre & Wayne has for his.

I’m not going to even rebut all that shit because you’re right I’m AM flexing on your ass! I DO for a living what you WANT to do!…Until you can say music has taken you out of your mom’s basement around the world…then there’s really no need for me to get into it with a FAN who know NOTHING about the business.

Keep supporting the artist though…because it’s good for me and my compadres!

Hit me up when you want an internship or something. I MIGHT can get you in the mail room LOLOL….

          13. Megamind says:

I’m open for a debate if you care to state WHY i’m wrong.
I’m from the old school era…I LOVE Hov…so this is not a shot at him. It’s just a fact…he never BROKEN or DEVELOPED any artists. He signed Cole and Cole grinded. Dame sign Kanye and Kanye grinded. Only artist I’ll give Roc Nation the nod on is Rihanna…they MADE her into a pop superstar (Ta-Ta & Jay Brown). Cole is like 3-4 albums deep and Jay has done ONE song with duke.

Now even is cats want to go back to the Beanie, SP days…Jay gave them a PLATFORM and did some records with them…but only RETAIL based stuff…nothing developmental.

Wayne was on Drake’s MIXTAPES…Nicki’s MIXTAPES…IDK it could be a generational thing…it is what it is…Hov still the GOAT though.

Break it down for Gucci too. Why is he a great A and R

          15. Megamind says:

Just the talent that he has discovered and how his sound has influenced this generation’s sound…now I’m not saying that’s a GOOD thing LOL…but it a TRUE thing, so you gotta give credit where credit it do. From Waka, Scooter…he gave Jeezy a platform when he was super hot and Jeezy was just getting on. And now Future, Migos, any most new rappers from the A ALL have his sound…not to mention his influence on Chicago’s Drill music sound.

Gucci has a good ear for music.

    3. Ordell Robbie says:

As far as penmanship is concerned I would never consider Wayne even a top 20 let alone a top 10. He had an impact on the game but his discography is just made up of a bunch of repetitive analogies like “Killed that p***y like Michael Myers” which are forgettable at best but that’s just my opinion. Once he discovered auto-tune it was downhill from there. Let’s be honest

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

I agree with the autotune Weezy, because of the autotune a lot of his lyrics go over people’s head. But as far as penmanship goes, Wayne is one the best ever. Mixtape Weezy is by far one of the best rappers to pick up a pen. It’s far harder to drop a project like no ceilings 1 than a lot of albums you hear today.

    4. @InGodUTrust says:

Hip-Hop isn’t a physical confrontation on the mic it’s purely verbal! Wayne doesn’t have to REtire he has to REnew his sound because he’s had (like you said) A Kobe-like resonation on the mic, More than half of the rap game sounds like a renovated Wayne. Niggas stole his niche now it’s time for him to make no sonic waves in the game!

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

I agree but at the same time, he really has nothing to prove. Tha Carter V is a double disc of 31 songs so if Wayne can be at his best, that would be a great way to leave the rap game. There’s no point in continuing after that when nothing he puts out will be that good. I just wanna hear C2 Wayne on C5.

        1. @InGodUTrust says:

We often get disappointed when we put expectations into things, Wayne getting his shit together, he may be more depressed than Future!

          1. Iamstillmusic says:

He probably is, but let’s see how the Carter V sounds first

    5. jay says:

      totally agree with you

Straight up trash. I miss the few years where Birdman kept Weezy in a cage to keep him from rapping for the public.

  12. jlUK says:

I can’t listen to another lil wayne song with his annoying voice with auto tune, he over saturated the market

    1. Odell Robbie says:

Yep! That auto-tune bs gets me heated! Ruins everything that it touches

  13. am i the only one finding this shit same ol wayne trash… and wtf he rappin over my name is for lol smh just NO

  14. yorapper says:

Just based of what he’s wearing in that cover I can’t listen to this.

  15. Music says:

24 tracks of straight garbage. i like wayne but this shit has to stop already

    1. i rather listen to the local cats than this crap

  16. BOI STOP says:

Not one of you idiots in the comment section could ever do what Wayne does. Stop thinking it’s like easy, or there’s no effort being put in. This makes what Young Thug and Future do look like Kindergarten nursery rhymes. This is his comeback, he is far from falling off, you must be thinking of Ross who has dropped a consistent amount of music and it has all bricked. The amount of listens and views across the board is still very high for Wayne, if we’re talking stats. Otherwise we’re talking RAP and RAPPING and this motherfucker is ill at just that. Bars and flow. When you hear your favorite rapper spit straight through a beat, that’s them paying homage to NO CEILINGS and Wayne. Bottom line is none of these rappers will ever give a shit about what you no talent having, under the bridge living, 1 listen reviewing dipshits think. The action of coming to this post, specifically to talk your shit about Wayne is one you losers need to look long and hard at. It says more about you than it does about him or anybody that likes him. This shit was awesome and fun. Both of the No Ceilings tapes are better than his albums. Just go away with your bullshit ass opinions. If you don’t get it than it’s not for you!

  17. Cody Williams says:

I’m bumping this cause I fuck wit Wayne heavy but to keep it 100 he ain’t even try with this one I like some of the songs but it sound rushed and like he just putting shit out so quick to stay relevant. FWA was tough no reason this should sound like this lol it’s like he don’t wanna do it no more Still the best tho 🐑🐏🐐

  18. Chronic says:

There’s definitely songs I don’t like, and a bunch I won’t listen to that often. But this tapes wasn’t bad at all, Wayne was spitting at what I think is his best in a long time. Actually had a couple lines that made me go back and re-listen to

  19. Sina Mailer Daemon Djavadkhani says:

I’m done with Wayne….that out of tune over Slim Shady …. weezy needs to work with Producers that know MUSIC. He even said it himself , he is not interested in making music that connects , he just spits and the management choose the tracks… This ain’t working no more Wayne !

  20. Sina Mailer Daemon Djavadkhani says:

24 tracks ? Come on … Let’s hear a solid body of work , REAL MUSiC Wayne ! Carter 3 is a cohesive body !

  21. I got my ears stomped together says:

wayne is all over the place with this project
