A$AP Rocky is free.

After a pending verdict, A$AP Rocky and two of his associates were found guilty of assault by the Stockholm District Court today. A panel of judges agreed their act was not in self-defense. The three were handed a suspended sentence of no jail time, but were each given a $1,300 fine.

Rocky spent a month in a Sweden jail, and was released from custody on Friday (August 2). The Harlem rapper landed on U.S. soil by private jet shortly after midnight (August 3) at LAX in Los Angeles, California.

Following three days in court, the judges in the case delayed the verdict and released him and two of his associates soon after.

Back on June 30, A$AP Rocky and his entourage were involved in a street brawl in Stockholm. A$AP was arrested on July 3 after footage of the altercation depicted the party attacking Mustafa Jafari. A$AP was officially charged on July 25 with assault causing actually bodily harm following newly discovered footage. A$AP’s charge faces two years, however prosecutors did not recommend the full sentence.

A$AP Rocky’s lawyer stated the altercation was in self-defense. The defense claims Jafari and another young man insinuating the physical altercation by continuously harassing Rocky and his associates. A$AP’s bodyguard, who was wounded by the fan with headphones, was not charged for his retaliation. Jafari has also not been charged for any crime.

Prior to his release, A$AP’s received many support from his peers and fans including an online petition. After speaking with Kanye West, President Donald Trump had also reached out to the Swedish justice system and the country’s prime minister, but have denied any leniency.
