The Marathon Continues…on Netflix.

Oscar-nominated film director and distributor Ava DuVernay has been commissioned to produced and direct an upcoming documentary on Nipsey Hussle.

Deadline reports the short-film, which will be premiered on Netflix, will follow the late rapper’s successful music career and his well-known activism in his Los Angeles community. The DuVernay’s ARRAY banner and Hussle’s Marathon Films co-production project was secured by Netflix following an intense bidding war with Apple and Amazon.

Back in March of 2019, Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot outside his Marathon Clothing store in South L.A. He was 33. Last month, Nip posthumously won his first Grammy with three at the 2020 Grammys. Long live Nipsey Hussle.
