This evening, Kanye West participated in a rally with students and the Chicago Public Schools’ faculty in South Side Chicago. The protest demanded that the Chicago Police cancel their $33 million contract with the Chicago Public Schools to keep officers out of their schools. The march was organized by community advocate Ja’Mal Green.

Earlier today, Kanye announced his $2 million donation to various charities associated with Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. His contribution will also cover the legal costs for the families of the victims.

In addition, the billionaire rapper and mogul has opened a 529 college savings fund to fully cover the tuition for Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter, Gianna. TMZ also notes West will also aid several black-owned businesses effected by the riots in both his hometown of Chicago and nationwide.

Kanye West I s among the list of celebrities who have donated and contributed to their fight for the cause. Earlier this week, The Weeknd donated $500,000 to various programs including the Black Lives Matter Global Network, Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp, and the National Bail Out, which Drake contributed to also with his $400,000 donation.

On Sunday, Jay-Z reached out to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and called for the prosecution of all four police officers involved in the death of George Floyd. Since then, all four officers have been charged.
