Pop Smoke ‘Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon’ Tops Billboard Charts

Pop Smoke has scored his first chart-topping effort.
This week, the late rapper’s Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Pop Smoke is the first Hip-Hop act in history to posthumously debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with a debut studio album.
The set moved 251,000 equivalent album units in its first week with 59,000 in traditional sales. It is the sixth biggest week in 2020 and the third largest Hip Hop/R&B album followed by The Weeknd’s After Hours, Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake, Eminem’s Music To Be Murdered By.
The LP clocked in with 268.44 million on-demand streams, making it the fourth largest streaming week of the year. It’s only surpassed by Lil Uzi Vert’s first two weeks of Eternal Atake and Drake’s Dark Lane Demo Tape‘s opening week.
Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon is also the first posthumous album since XXXTentacion’s Skins in December 2018. Pop Smoke and XXXTentacion are two of four Hip-Hop artists with posthumous No. 1s, which include The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac, who each have three posthumous leaders. Congrats!
