It’s the BET Hip Hop Awards!

BET celebrated hip hop’s royalty during the 15th annual BET Hip Hop Awards on Tuesday night (Oct. 28).

Lil Baby and 42 Dugg kicked off the virtual ceremony with a fiery performance of “We Paid”. Mulatto and Gucci Mane brought Atlanta’s Magic City to the show with a medley of “Youngest N Richest,” “Bitch From Da Souf,” and “Muwop”. Taking it to the bedroom, Big Sean and Jhene Aiko as TWENTY88 for a hot rendition of “Body Language” along with Ty Dolla $ign.

The greats were also remembered with tributes including Cordae, Lil Bibby, and G Herbo saluting the late Juice World. Pop Smoke’s presence was felt, after taking the award for Best New Rap Artist. Quavo also hit the stage to perform “Shake The Room” and “Aim For The Moon” off the rapper’s posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon.

Throwing a fist in the air, Burna Boy and Chris Martin turned their set into a politically-charged performance of “Monsters You Made”, while Tobe Nwigwe brought his own Sunday service with an ethereal medley of “Try Jesus” and “Eat”.

Live from the jungle, the City Girls lit the stage with their sexy performance of “Kitty Talk” and “Jobs” before 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne capped off the evening with the epic performance of “Money Maker”.

Among those who participated in the Cyphers included the all-female cypher featuring Brandy, Teyana Taylor H.E.R, and Erykah Badu, who flexed their bars over Brandy’s ’90s classic “I Wanna Be Down (Remix).

Others who flexed their lyrical abilities included Polo G, Rapsody, Jack Harlow, Ade’, Buddy, Flo Milli, Deante Hitchcock ,Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Skip Marley, Koffee, and many more.

Megan Thee Stallion came out with the most wins of the evening including Best Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration (“Savage (Remix)” and Hustler of The Year. Rapsody became the first female artist to take Lyricist of the Year.

Roddy Ricch took Best Song for “The Box” and Album Of The Year with Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. Travis Scott was crowned Best Performer, Future and Drake “Life Is Good” was dubbed Best Video, while Chris Brown and Young Thug were dubbed the Best Duo/Group of the year.

Stormzy took Best International Flow, Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture” was named Most Impact Track, Hit-Boy grabbed Best Producer and Master P was honored this year’s I Am Hip Hop award. Full list of winners here.
