T.I.’s first recording since his release is set to drop next Monday. The production duo behind the boards, Trackslayerz crafted the beat back in ’08 and spoke with VIBE on what to expect. “This record right here kinda reminds me of the Urban Legend T.I., but it’s from the point of when he got locked up. It’s no fall off [with] the lyricism. It’s like he’s completely focused. T.I. went extremely hard. He went in,” says Price as his other half, Inf chimes in, “The track is hard. It brings you back to the old T.I. It’s like a ‘U Don’t Know Me’ type track. It’s pretty hard. He’s coming back with the aggressive, mean kind of swag. It’s definitely a [street single].” We ready!

T.I. can definitely write songs but he isnt a lyricist. No one here could drop any T.I. quotables whereas if it was Jay, Pun, Eminem, Luda or NaS, it would be instantaneous.

@diggsy Pac could actually connect with the world by being able to have no limit with his content range, hence, T.I. and 2Pac are not comparable.
Also, you quoted his first album, when he wasnt popular. Drop some quotables that make him the “artist” he is today? Like I say, dude can write a song but his lyrics are forgettable. He has no flow variation on top of average at max lyrics.

The great thing about T.I. is that his life is told through his lyrics. I can’t say the same thing about Jay Z.

@Barney, T.I. is an average rapper with above average moments (i.e. Swagga Like Us, tho he had to re-write his verse, the flow was hot but he had no lines).
Again I say, T.I. picks great beats, can write songs but he really isnt the best or one of the best things hip hop has seen. He’s just marketed that way.
