For the most part, J.Cole’s been tight lipped as to the details of his debut album. But during his appearance yesterday on The All Out Show on Shade 45 he says that he’s eyeing an August release. He also says that he begins shooting his video “Who Dat” next week.

Back at the Band of Ballers tournament, DJ Holiday coerces Cam’Ron into doing a mixtape together. Sounds good, but I doubt if this ever happens doggie.
“Me and Cam need to do something … a Holiday Season or something. I know you know the brand,” the DJ said, referring to his popular mixtape series.
“I could do a mixtape in three hours,” Cam challenged. “Let’s stop talking and do it.”
“I can block out about four hours, and we knock out a Holiday Season and make a classic,” Holiday said. “I know you make mixtapes with everybody, but when you do one with the kid, it’s a little different experience.”
In case you haven’t heard, Sha Money XL was recently named Senior VP of A&R at Def Jam Records. Congrats! Sha talked to MTV about his new job and possibly bringing 50 and the Unit to the house Russell built.
“I spoke to Fif, to [his manager Chris] Lighty. I would love to see that there,” Sha admitted. “Banks has an amazing record right now, independently. If things work out, then yeah, I would love to see that happen. The beef stuff, I’m over. We at a certain point in life where we don’t even need that. We eat that. So I will let them speak for their own, but honestly, I would like to see a company continue to grow. And I think G-Unit is in a position — coming from an independent space — that can continue to do their thing. I would like to provide an opportunity for them to continue to grow.”
On Monday, Lauryn Hill made a rare appearance and attended the Tanzania Education Trust Gala And Reception in NYC. Outside the event, she told the paps that she’s “possibly” coming out with new material. L Boogie’s first (and last) solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was released nearly 12 years ago.
