Judging by the promo clip above, it appears that Kanye and his G.O.O.D. Music family will be making their return to the South by Southwest music festival on March 19th in Austin, TX. Better get there before midnight.
By Lil’ Kim’s own accord, her
old new mixtape Black Friday has made her the top seller in PayPal history. Instead of giving the tape away for free, she’s sellling it for $10 a pop. Hard to believe in one day, Kimmy moved 113,000 mixtapes. Six years ago, it took a week for her last album, The Naked Truth to sell 109,000 copies.
But don’t get it twisted, the Double R can’t knock the hustle. In fact, YN put his money where his mouth is earlier today. It wasn’t until after his purchase however, he discovered the tape was being shipped via mail. What the bloodclot?! So much for a rapid refund.
Cory Gunz’s reality show, Son Of A Gun is set to premiere this April. But it seems things may have already backfired. According to TMZ, MTV and executive producer Nick Cannon were served with a cease and desist from Johnny Fratto, son of mafia boss Louis Fratto. Fratto claims he has a series titled Son Of A Gun in the works and that the MTV trailer used some of his themes. Now that ain’t gangsta.
Apparently, all the powermove business talk Rozay teased me with in Miami rings true. Besides the impending signings of Wale (I heard the deal went through yesterday, but now I can’t get anyone to confirm) and Meek Mill to his imprint, he’s being courted by the music industry’s bosses for MMG. Inside sources have told me the players include: Jay-Z’s Roc Nation/Sony; Birdman’s CMB; Lyor Cohen and the good folks at Warner; and Diddy and Iovine at Interscope. Wait, no Def Jam? The tone arm’s gonna let their heavyweight plant is flag somewhere else without a fight? Hmm. I’d advise against that Antonio. Ha!
Question: Where’d y’all think Rozay and his crew should take their talents to?
Just just uploaded this video of him checking in with the Doc. And although April 20th falls on a Wednesday, Dre hints that Detox will finally arrive for consumption on cannabis day. Oy Vey!
Although Kanye said “Watch The Throne coming in one week, nigga” on New Year’s, a lil’ birdie told Andrew over at FSD, that said project would be dropping on Tuesday, March 1st. If it means anything, the duo met yesterday at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo. Maybe they were deciding the first single. Check the YBF for a few pics.
Some things are too good to be true, but according to DJ Big Mike, he’s ready to kick off 2011 with a new track called “Syllables” featuring the three headed monster and Jay-Z. Whoa, let the countdown begin.
heads up: hhs
