Electric Relaxation.

As part of her seven-part Metropolis concept series, Janelle Monáe released her sophomore offering, The Electric Lady. With all the elements onboard, she sets things off by gliding over Prince’s guitars on “Givin Em What They Love”. She then brings in the noise and funk with Erykah Badu on the rebellious “Q.U.E.E.N.”. And if it’s raps you want, she hangs with the best of them on the title track.

The Bad Girl keeps the groove banging on “Dance Apocalyptic” and keeps the old school soul beneath her feet on “It’s Code”. Ms. Monáe belts her true vocals on the jazzy ditty “Look Into My Eyes”, before getting cozy during “PrimeTime” with Miguel. Donna Summer will forever be the queen of disco, but songs like “Ghetto Woman” are a crowning achievement. Relax yourself girl, settle down.—Big Homie

I like this album a lot. But that’s definitely Solange rapping on the title track; not Janelle Monae

I CANT BELIEVE YOU GUYS PUT JHENE OVER THIS ONE. JANELLE MONAE, CHRISETTE MICHELLE AND BEYONCE HAD THE BEST RNB ALBUMS OF 2013!

THIS ALBUM WAS NO 1 UNTIL BEYONCE CAME OUT! NO OTHER ALBUM WAS MORE COMPLETE THEN THIS ALBUM (Besides Beyonce). PERIOD!! WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THIS LIST??

ms. Goody two shoes..I’m glad her album doesn’t sell. She tried to much to come off as angelic and righeous minded but never balance the act. She only has one good sond song on the album. Great skits.
