    1. Dark Matters says:

Perhaps, you need to change your outlook on life. How can the sound of someone being lighthearted/emotionally “up” be upsetting to you?

      1. GetReal says:

ill admit this is one of the best comments on the internet, you have a youtube channel?

        1. Dark Matters says:

I appreciate the big up. No youtube channel, though.

I appreciate the convo in this…I like that Wale push back at you guys because he called y’all out on some real shit…just like B Dot kept it 100 about not being the biggest Wale fan. But I’m glad he pushed back about his brand name bc you guys wouldn’t ask Future about FBG, OVO, etc…now granted it did come out the blue…no pun, it’s still his brand and doesn’t really need explanation.

Way to push past the tension to regain the interview.

    1. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

Thanks. I think it was a legit question tho? It seem like a relative new thing

      1. Megamind says:

It was a legit question…I just think the way it was posed and the “digs” after made him (and me) feel it was a slight/jab at him…esp because it’s such an unconventional name…good shit though…keep pulling in those OG interviews….get Kevin Liles, Stoute, A&Rs (none of these clown cake cats we know…) some high powered attorneys, marketers, managers, ad agency and tech guys, etc…I should get a check for my ideas! LOL!..but seriously LOL.

I’m in the game too so I see/know what it is…keep educated cats on the game and the changes happening in it.

        Peace

  11. Dark Matters says:

Wale is an intelligent introspective guy. He appears to suffer from low self-esteem and I think it manifests itself in defensiveness and/or mild hostility towards people. When he gets past it and is really speaking sincerely he becomes very personable.

I get it, though. It can’t be the easiest thing being in the public eye and having people like me constantly analyzing and trying to test you.

    1. Megamind says:

I said the SAME thing…it’s almost as if he speaks into existence AGAINST his blessing.
He’s in a position of privilege…which I’m sure he’s grateful for…but his low self-esteem is exuding…but as an artist…they are really vulnerable…this is why you have to be and make art true to yourself.

      1. Dark Matters says:

Yeah, there’s something lurking beneath the surface there that he hasn’t fully got an understanding of that often rears its head in a very unkind way towards others. You can tell he’s aware of it, but I don’t think he’s quite mastered it. It results in often awkwardly tense “what did that person did to deserve this” exchanges with people.

I saw another such mildly hostile awkwardness in his Nardwar interview. I hope he manages to get over it, because he’s a smart, sincere guy with generally good intentions, who also cares about his music.

I think in the end all parties handled this conversation as well as they were going to handle it.

  12. Kb says:

Solid interview but I think the breakfast club made more impactful

  13. Iran Lynn Waller says:

@@brianbdotmiller:disqus thanks for the honesty. #salute … and Im a Wale fan

  14. Currystew says:

Respect B-Dot! He basically asked you str8 up why don’t you like my music and you kept it totally honest and precise with him. Everyone know you hate him, but to see him humbly approach it is nice. Great Podcast guys! I just like old fashion honesty, EF politics.

  15. Mainframe says:

boring interview. wale is difficult to listen to and didn’t say anything interesting.

  16. Black says:

After Combat Jack, Juan Ep is the 2nd best podcast. Both these dudes sound so corny to me its hard to listen to them honestly. Made an exception for this episode & the Metro Boomin one though

  17. Sina Mailer Daemon Djavadkhani says:

Wale fan here, weird interview, hoping Wale will find his fulfillment
