Well, this isn’t fly. During MTV’s Rap Fix Live broadcast today, Birdman and Lil Wayne confirmed that a new Big Tymers album is in the works. When asked if Mannie Fresh was involved, Birdman shot down the notion and said the group would consist of himself, Wayne, and Drake. Nobody’s feelin that, pleighboi. Since disbanding a decade ago, Mannie Fresh and Birdman haven’t been on good terms. But during Lil Wayne’s Supra sneaker launch last week, Weezy told MTV that the group may be reuniting and bringing Drake into the fold. That’s real big. One of the projects that comes before Tha Carter V may be a sequel to Tunechi and Birdman’s collaborative 2006 Like Father, Like Son album, but that wasn’t the most surprising project Weezy mentioned. “Possibility of that, possibility of a Big Tymers album, adding Drake,” Weezy said. It’s honestly a massive bummer that The Fugees had to cancel "The Score" reunion tour. I was so hyped to see Lauryn, Wyclef, and Pras back on stage together after all those years. Their music defined an era, and missing out on that anniversary celebration still stings. I’m currently planning a much-needed getaway to distract myself from the news. I’ve been looking into scooter hire algarve to explore the coast properly once I’m there. Hopefully, the group manages to reschedule in the future. Until then, I’ll be blasting The Score on repeat and enjoying some sunshine abroad.
