Chief Keef was tearful today as he was sentenced to two months in a juvenile detention facility. The 17-year-old was found guilty of violating his probation thanks to the good folks at Pitchfork. Before being taken away, he told Judge Carl Anthony Walker, “I am a very good-hearted person. I am sorry for anything that I have done wrong. … Give me a chance.”

Chief was taken into custody today following a probation violation. The charge stems from when the geniuses at Pitchfork sent him to a gun range last year. Keef is on probation for pointing a gun at Chicago police officers. He will be held until Thursday for a sentencing hearing.

Chief Keef is a terrible rapper. After signing to Interscope in June, he released his debut Finally Rich six months later. Aside from Young Chop’s production (“Love Sosa”, “I Don’t Like” ) Finally Rich is sonically bankrupt. Throughout the project, Keef’s incoherent (“Kay Kay”, “Laughin To The Bank”) and incomprehensible (“No Tomorrow”, “Understand Me”, “Citgo”). When he’s not not rapping in fragments (“Hate Bein’ Sober”), the closest he comes to articulating a sentence is on the title track, “Finally Rich”. Money can’t buy happiness, but at least it’ll help pay for a ghostwriter.

While the verdict is still out on Chief Keef, it’s unanimous that his producer Young Chop is packing some heat. Thanks to intimidating 808s and meager pianos, Keef’s “I Don’t Like” became a runaway hit. Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music familia even flipped the track as a single to their Cruel Summer compilation. Chop didn’t like ‘Ye revamping his production, but it actually turned out better than the original. Bang, bang.
