Whether it’s in their dreams or on the set, the ladies still love Cool James. And for the video to his new single, they all swoon over the smooth operator. His Authentic Hip Hop arrives in February.

LL hangs his flag for the rap pioneers on the front display of his 14th album, Authentic Hip Hop. Set for a February release, Mr. Smith tells Essence:

“I’m not trying to compete with 17-year-olds on the radio, but I am talking directly to the folks who came up with me. We may not be teenagers anymore, but we do still like to have fun.”

Hopefully, the fun is more “Take It” and less “Ratchet“.

When LL’s not busy putting his paws on home intruders, he’s back in the lab. Earlier this summer, he said he’s working on his next album and tonight, he released a new track dedicated to not-so-around-the-way-girls.

It’s a Queens thing baby. And this afternoon, Hot 97′s Mister Cee was back with a mix dedicated to James Todd Smith. Talk about hits, geesh.

Mama said knock you out! Earlier this morning, there was a break in at LL’s L.A. home. Cool J confronted the intruder, lumped him up, and detained him before he was taken into custody by authorities. Eat ‘em up, L!

It’s been four years since LL Cool J’s last album. And during his press conference for his new digital partnership on Wednesday, he told XXL that he’s working on his thirteenth studio album.

“I’m going to be doing a little bit of the album on the [My Connect Studio], make sure that it is official,” he said. “And as a matter of fact I started on my album too. It’s authentic Hip Hop, it’s the business…it’s 2012, so it doesn’t sound like it would sound if it were 10 years ago or 20 years ago, but it’s definitely official. It’s a breath of fresh air. It doesn’t sound like anything that’s out right now. I think it’s crazy. It’s the business. It’s real.”
