With his debut album dropping next month, Meek lands his first solo cover on The Source’s Aug/Sept 2012 issue. The magazine arrives on newsstands August 7, but peep the excerpts below.
His upcoming debut album, Dreams & Nightmares:
“It’s all about me thinking what type of first album am I gonna present to the people. [I got] something for the streets, the clubs, storytelling, soulful songs, deep songs.”
Bottle incident involving Drake and Chris Brown.
“I was there, and sh*t got real. I had nothing to do with it. I don’t have a problem with Drake…It was a lot of unknown guys throwing bottles.”
Peep the photoshoot after the jump.
Meek’s still promoting Dreamchasers 2 and has begun shooting the project’s next video, “Face Down”. From the looks of it, the clip seems rather simplistic. We’ll see soon enough.
In a statement, boycott leader Pastor Johnson ended his protest and embraced the rapper’s apology.
“This apology was the condition for lifting the Call-To-Action boycott. While I have made the choice not to listen to or support any artist that promotes blasphemy or misogyny in their music, I appreciate Mr. Williams being willing to acknowledge his wrong. It is my sincere hope, that he, along with all popular rappers with their fans, will embrace God’s total forgiveness by turning from the sin promoted through mainstream Hip Hop, and trust solely in Christ for salvation.”
Meek was in Bridgetown, Barbados this past Sunday and in the footage above, he brings the “House Party” to the Kensington Oval stadium as well as “Ima Boss”.
A wild night of partying will do that to ya. But on this Sunday morning, Meek and Drake take us to
church Club Paradise in their new video, directed by Dre Films. Pastor Johnson, where was you at?
“Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.” —Matthew 12:32
In today’s edition of the Daily News, he encouraged others to boycott the record. Shortly after, Meek called the station and questioned the pastor’s motives.
Sidebar: Oh, the pastor raps too.
With a cameo by Rico Love, Wale, Meek Mill, and French Montana set up shop in an alleyway for their latest flick. Other than a few bike tricks and pretty ladies, the video is standard Maybach flair. Act right and cop Self Made Vol. 2 in stores now.
Ain’t no party without the MMG Crew. And last night, Ricky Rozay, Meek Mill and Wale hit the stage to perform “Bag Of Money”, “So Sophisticated” as well as “Black Magic”. Even French and Gunplay joined the fray. Where yo sea bass?!
Tapemasters Inc. recently dropped their new mixtape, Slight Work 2 and another track featured on it is something new from Meek Mill, Nipsey & Sean Kingston. Not really sure where this track will end up but, it’s sounding pretty good.
