This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but next September, NJ Nets co-owner Jay-Z will headline the first concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Hopefully by then the NBA lockout is over. An official press conference will go down this Monday.

A press conference was held this afternoon for the groundbreaking of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Yards. Set to open in 2012, the 18,000 seat arena will become the new home of the New Jersey Brooklyn Nets. Many local residents oppose the move due to imminent increases in traffic and living costs.
