Nowhere in this conversation did I state my specific opinion on the MMLP2, just that everything I heard off of it was so unbearable I couldn't bring myself to listen to the rest. I probably have heard about half the album either because they were singles or because one of my friends was playing it, like in the case of the "Life's Been Good" mutilation, and it all sucked. Maybe I was a little overdramatic in saying EVERYTHING he's been attached to is garbage, but I have heard about 80-90% of his work in the past five years, including his freestyles which have been the high point, and I think 80-90% is more than enough to make a claim about whether or not you like an artist. For example, I have heard probably no more than 10% of Young Thug's body of work, but I don't need to hear more to know I'm not a fan. As far his work being 'technically his best lyrical work', I would have to disagree because of all the corny shit he says. His flows haven't gotten worse, but the shit he is saying is, that's why it has no replay value...because I would say it isn't even worth the first listen. Like I said, Em has been a big part of my life, fundamental to my early interest in hip hop when I was just a kid, but I can't lie to myself and say his new stuff is good. That's just how it goes, not every artist can keep their momentum going, and to bring it back to my original point, as much as I may have loved him before, I'm not afraid to admit he his music is a joke these days.
