I hope this mixtape is on some trap or die shit.
i want some real music
i haven't rocked with Fab since From Nothing To Something, Banks has been hit and miss.
Happy to see Troy Ave living out his dreams by making records with his favorite rapper and idol. Was hard to see him making records with frauds he dissed just because his biggest influence wouldn't give him the time of day.
"I don't think forcing people to pay for streaming is going to be the answer."
No one is "forcing" anyone to do anything. They obviously offer very compelling product, which people like yourself feel you can't live without. So you're feeling "forced" to pay for it. The fact is if you feel you can't live without someone's product, and they're charging for it, you should pay for it - simple.
"Don't you agree that Tidal should offer a free option with ads?"
I feel Tidal should do whatever works for Tidal - simple. I'm not going to tell another person what they should be doing with what they created. I don't know why as a consumer of music, people like yourself feel the artist should be the one losing out, when they're the most important variable in the equation - not the consumer.
If artists aren't making money at what they work very hard to do, they'll have no incentive to make it and it will show in the product. And then typical entitled consumers will start moaning about how wack the product is. Consumers already don't respect the product, because it's being given to them for free.
And btw - consumers never got whole albums for free, before the internet era. They got 1 or 2 free videos and radio singles. That was it. And even back then many artists sold music videos, behind the scenes footage on VHS and DVD. Nowadays, a lot of that is made available for free. What makes you think that is something you're entitled to. It's not your right - simple. If artists make it available, then you should definitely appreciate it when you get it - not demand it as though it were your right.
