Money respects money and they both have plenty of it.
T-Pain is the ONLY artist in hip-hop that should be allowed to use auto-tune or a vocoder period!

am gonna sleep [IT’S 4am over here] and once i wake up..
i expect a HQ video of this performance?
You get that B.Dizzle and Mr.Wilson? okay.. GET ON IT
Know The Ledge says:
Glad to see Jay doing what Jay do. You make a song about how autotune killed the genre and then start snapping flicks with T-Pain?
This is like Minister Farrakhan dating Paris Hilton. Epic Fail.
Lil' Nello says:
I see you seen my Twit lol! Now if we could just find the video! Although that shit shocked me when I heard it!
RamJam says:
@jayco; I think you are spot-on with the fact that $ respects $ and seeing as how T-Pain is the ‘pioneer’ (?) of auto-tune as selling point…
Know The Ledge; I can see that side, too…
…I can see how T-Pain would feel the need to save his shit by co-signing Jay’s shit, but Jay wins. Now, every time you hear the robot-voice, you are either thinking of ‘South Park’ or HIS song next.
MJB says:
I need better video cause I really wanna see how it went down.
@RamJam, glad you put the (?) because Roger Troutman deserves the mainstreem pioneer label at least. (somebody obscure surely has the technological pioneer status, but Roger brought it to the folks in a digestible format). That being said, I give Teddy Pain his due for reviving it to great success. And I now give him his due for being on the right side of the pendulum when it swings back. Lil John should’ve declared Crunk dead (it’s really only evolved though) before everyone else and he might have some skin in the game now.
Jay, well he never ceases to amaze me. People expect him to be phased by things that admittedly most folks (especially in his field) are and he harkens back to the signiture cool that is ultimately his calling card. It’s confidence and self-deprecation mixed with both a hard-fought and instinctive appreciation for human nature. And more accutely human nature as relates to hip-hop and pop culture in this 21st century. For him it translates into artistic AND business W’s.
RR recently had a post with 3000 bemoaning how nobody escapes the passage of time and it’s true. I don’t think Jay fights this, he redefines what is cool and possible. Much like the guy living at 1600 Pennsylvania! Holla!!!!!!!!
