Some folks on here really need to grown up. It must be fun to bash Chris Brown, some act as if they get paid to do so. I am not a Chris Brown fan, nor a Rihanna fan. Chris made a mistake that he regrets… that’s life. Time will eventually heal. Walmart as a corporation did not blackball the album. There have been reports of listeners who went to random stores and found that locally, Chris’ cd was being withheld, and customers were lied to about its availability. There was a specific case where a customer had to complain to a regional manager or above about the issue, and guess what, Chris’ cd magically appeared for that specific consumer to buy. Now if I am Vice President of Walmart my stance is this: I am a retailer, I am in the business of stocking and selling merchandise. – PERIOD. It is not my stance to control or censor anyone from any pubically safe product. My district managers or local mangers would not reserve the right to intentionally ban or remove ANY product from its scheduled display in my stores. I mean what is next, I have a cooky manager who believes that Brats dolls influences his young daughter to dress like a whore? Well fine, you control that purchase, you will not pull Brats merchandise from my shelf. Every consumer has the right to chose.
Now that is out of the way, like I said, I am not a CB fan, but I was curious about his CD since it has been blackballed in reviews, just check metacritic and you will even see a review of ZERO… now an album would have to be music in reverse to accomplish a ZERO… the cd would have to be dead air hissing through your speakers. But I listened to most of it so far… and I am disgusted.
I am disgusted by the unfair reviews, not his music. He has about 5 good tracks that I like, but the diversity on his CD is wild. He has something for everyone, UK will get a kick out of his house-like tracks (not my taste, but hey). There is a track influenced by Michael Jackson, and “Sing Like Me” is the best R&B hit I have heard in 5 years. Keep in mind, I am not a CB fan. This kid, I REPEAT KID, is the embodiment of talent. He has a song that makes me question my listening pleasures, “Graffiti”. I don’t like rock inspired tracks, but Chris somehow made this a joy to listen to. So if all of you out there can decide to cut from all the hate and self-righteousness, you may find some good music on the cd. Everyone has forgotten, I go to music sites for reviews on music, not reviews on personal issues.
There is more to the Chris Brown / Rihanna story than people will admit to have a hint about. Some of it also involves Jay-Z who shares some of the blame. All I will say about that is how does a 40 year old MAN make himself feel more like a man by threatening the life of a 20 year old boy for issues with a young woman who Jay-Z used to sleep with? Beyonce put Jay in check before he got too out of line. Oh well, but that is a whole different topic altogether. Not to mention you can view Jay-Z assaulting a woman in her face for simply, taking his picture. You can YouTube it at anytime.
My message to Chris – Son, you will now discover who your real friends are and who are not. It is unfortunate that you young kids went through this ordeal. Continue to work on improving yourself, and only care about the VERY FEW people who are truly close to you, and have your best interests at heart.
