Although Rick Ross managed to produce one of last year’s better albums, not much positive could be said for his Triple C’s crew’s debut. Take the creatively bankrupt “Throw It In The Sky” or the aftermarket dud “Finer Things” as prime examples. Later “Chick’n Talk’n” falls on deaf ears while guest Game fails to bring an edge to “Gangster Shit”. Ultimately though, the real problem is internal. Although there’s some sonically impressive production throughout, The Cartel fail miserably on making a lasting impression on tracks like, the lead single “Go” and the Bun-B assisted “Break It Down”. Clearly, Custom Cars & Cycles could’ve used way more fine tuning.
