According to Billboard, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are revamping the global anthem, “We Are The World”. The record was recorded 25 years ago in support of Africa relief. Coincidentally, the rehash comes in the wake of last week’s earthquake in Haiti. The tandem are recruiting talent from Grammy weekend to participate. So far, invited guests include Usher, Natalie Cole, and John Legend. Surely, more to come.

Personally, I think they should just re-release it as is! It is a great song. Was, back in 1985; still is, 25 years later, here in 2010.
If Quincy wants to do a new version, I hope he’ll keep Michael’s vocal track still on it…
It’s HIS song, after all… Don’t disrespect the creator.

Wow are we forgetting why they are doing this? Fuck who they put on it!! Fuck if they are all rappers or not!! This is for people hurting in the world and if Drake can put a rhyme out there that can make bitches buy the track for the picture or if Eminem can get all these wannabe Slim Shady’s to man up or if Jay-Z is the rapper that the whole world adores and wants on this song… then let it fucken be!!! I respect all the artists who are willing to put out a couple of bars for all the pain in the world… MJ did his part and made a difference, we need to start looking for others to help and do their part as well.
