The apple really doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Today, Run’s middle son Diggy, signed a deal with Atlantic Records. Congrats! If that wasn’t enough, Diggy also turned 15 years old yesterday. How’s that for a birthday present.

Speechless
I hope they hype him like they did Drake.
He has crazy potentials.
Drake talked about mad crap, this kid did with 3 blog song. (his mixtape wasn’t really big, the solo songs did it)

Congrats Diggy!!!! Talented little dude with good style.
Now just waiting for CJ, Marquis and Knight to drop an album in a decade and a half.

Damn Atlantic is the new Def Jam! Lupe, TI,Trey Songz, B.O.B., Donnis, & now Diggy
Thats dope. I hope he keep his head straight coz dude has real potential to be a star in a couple of years.

SMH…Atlantic has a track record of committing some dumb ass fuckery with talented new artists….hope they don’t fuck this kid over, he has some SERIOUS potential…
Is he going to team up with the Bieb? #1 single.

OH SHIT, Y’ALL NIGGAS SCARED NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JoJo must be hurt
@C.Baines good call, I see Atlantic and Island Def Jam drawing up the papers now for that to happen. This kid is the hybrid of LL Cool J/Bow Wow/Lupe/Pharell. Meaning he has a bright future. Plus his charisma is organic and genuine, not forced at all.
@RAND
Lol! Damn, ur right. They have better artists than Def Jam does now anyway…wait 4 it…waiiiiittttt 4 it….the hate that is. 🙂
Nigga put in work and now he’s reaping the benefits. His fam won’t let him get fucked by these record execs. He’s in a good place right now. I’m feelin sorry for jo jo lol. Dude is a square
Lil Twist signed to Young Money with a 1.3 million dollar signing bonus
this nigga Diggy does 3 freestyles and gets a deal with Atlantic
Justin Beiber sings a bunch of song on Youtube and has a platinum album
These little niggas is killing the internet Game I mean wtf 1.3 million dollars
and yea Jojo is tight becuz he got his start around the same age as Diggy and Diggy is with The majors while Jojo is independent with a label i never heard of until they showed it on the show
Come on now people why wouldn’t Diggy put and or include JoJo in any of his future material with his new deal?
HA! Hotness right here…..the 2nd coming eh? Well he won’t be lacking connections, it ain’t like he will have a problem maneuvering in the inner circles.
@interscope employee…co-sign 100%. ..Smdh ha ha.
@Will,
lol. u got it so twisted? how u gonna bigup diggy gettin a deal? lmfao. yall niggaz is ridiculous for real. HES THE CHILD OF HIP HOP ROYALTY WHICH MAKES HIM ONE OF THE MOST CONNECTED INDIVIDUALS IN THE UNIVERSE! LOL. So how dare ANYONE be surprised he got a deal? lol. As long as he came out of his moms snatch with MEDIOCRE talent he was destined to do wtf he wanted if he put forth THE LEAST amount of effort. and this aint hate. i hope the kid puts out more nice music and is really successful….i just cant stand when dumb ass niggaz make shit out to be more than what it is.
Diggy has potential.. Hopefully Atlantic doesn’t fuck it up.
I respect Diggy’s talent as a rapper and wish him the best in his endeavors.
congrats to the new generation of the black bourgeoisie. w.e.b. du bois would be proud. as for the cain vs. abel component: just goes to show you, it’s not the quantity of the grind, it’s the quality of grind. Diggy was clearly a better commodity. Jo Jo will live as will the rest of the million kids who will never get a major deal. there’s other things then atlantic records in this world. but much success to the Simmons clan!

^ If that was true, JoJo should have caked up with the majors a long time ago… the little kid is smart… he has the potential to be a business, man.
hes going in ll cool j style. shiiiiit. major accomplishment.
ain’t this some bullshit, but we all know how he got this deal
^^^its obviously true? lol and jojo not having a deal could be explained in a million different ways. there are LITERALLY A MILLION rappers who are more talented and intelligent then this KID. He’s signing that line because of who he is. not what he is. you have to be a moron to think otherwise even for a split second.
“its WHO ya know not WHAT you know.”
Why JOJO can’t get a deal? What happen to Team Blackout?
Wow, hatin’ on a lil kid, this site has no boundaries,
its funny how people are sayin his pops had something to do wit it, if thts the case couldnt he make calls for jojo?? this little dude is nice and he put the work in let him rock.
Atlantic Records is under Warner Music Group.
Warner Music Group is run by Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles (retired, but you know he still has pull), Julie Greenwald, and Michael Kyser.
All of them started their careers at Def Jam under Russell Simmons.
Russell Simmons is Diggy’s uncle.
Diggy Simmons is a smart kid. These execs might have been at his christening. Any other label would have treated him like a puppet. He went where he would be respected. I was already rooting for the kid, but this move makes me respect him even more.
Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout! Team Blackout!
Damn! Jojo switch ya game up. Or rather kill yaself! After looking at all the comments, I agree with _MelG_. Yeah, his old man and uncle might have put inn a good word for him and made calls but the bottom line is any record who signed him would be signing him for his talent. That cannot be doubted. The dude has ut in work and that has greatly paid off IMO.
As _MelG_, I think it’s a dope move he signed with Atlantic. All them pp other there worked under his uncle once upn a time and they got love for the Simmons family. I’m assuming there will be mutual respect there and they ain’t gonna fuck up his artistic output. Good luck to ya bruv. Much success to ya.
JoJo! Kill YaSelf Bra!
@yaboitone
I was saying its crazy how these kids are killing with their intenet game when adults who go str8 thru the street cant do what they do
and diggy is way beyond his age i checc out this due blog site he got all kind of designs for his clothing line he finish a prototype for his sneaker
I mean you cant hate on this kid becuz he is doing shit at 15 his bro and sister didnt do until they were in they 20’s I mean Vanessa Moved out when she was what 24 and she like 27 and she still living with her sister off her fathers money the rate diggy is going he can be out on his own at 18
Out of all the kids I like Diggy the most well I like Vanessa the most but I like the attitude Diggy Carries like that episode when he didnt want to get picced up in the phantom he didnt want to seem like some rich kid where everything was given to him shit he was like 12 then
@yaboitone
and thats not necessaily true becuz Vanessa would be a superstar actress and Jojo wouldve got a def Jam deal or a Major Label Deal
Congrats lil homie. Kill these niggaz lyric/song wise and show ’em why they signed u!
Politcs as usual. Is dude really nicer than Cory Gunz? Would anyone be surprised if he had ghost writers?
notice how nobody in the background gives a shit
uncle russell will fire that ass
*srugs* So sick of rich rappers.
Well……..making music for fun is a lot different than doing it for a living. This kid is young and the pressure is just beginning. Luckily, he’s got the best support base you can have. As for JoJo, everybody can’t be a rapper…
Ya’ll niggas is dumb JOJO is probably the proudest of this dude that’s his lil brother…im sure he’s happy to see that fam come up. Plus you know he gonna try to get a feature.
Gladys Knight was Aaliyah’s aunt. This relationship made it easier for Aaliyah to get a chance, but ultimately it came down to Aaliyah making all the classic material she made before her untimely death. Who you know will get you to the front of the line, but it doesn’t guarantee people will accept you.
I doubt JoJo is jealous of Diggy. That’s his lil’ brother.
Diggy had it made even before all of this. Just looks better on him that he’s got some talent to work with.
HE GOT A DEAL, GREAT
NOW PUT YA TALENT ON A CD
IF U WANNA SHINE BY YOURSELF !
kids got talent and alotta potentail i hop they groom him right and dont rush him!
Great pick up…I find it interesting that while Def Jam is trying sign guys on their way out…the “Real Def Jam” over at Atlantic is looking to the future..And this kid is a STAR across the board.
Go Diggy!

Why didnt he go to Def jam?
@ everyone who said it was who he knows then you need to listen to his ‘over’ and “made you look’ freestyles, he just turned 15 and out rapped some major rappers entire catalouges in two freestyles. his mixtape was ok 4 what it was, while it was’nt the best he seems to have good songwriting skills and he seems to always stay on topic unlike most rappers of today who rely heavily on punchlines which most times are just random rhyming punchlines about balla shit. if diggy stay focused ppl like me will be saying ‘we told you so’ in 5 yrs from now when he wont even be 21. he is very advanced 4 his age….
def jam is the new RCA
i remember when Diggy was in the “Blood money pt. 3” video with his pops…now he’s inkin a deal…that’s wassup
He signs a deal and all you can talk about is JoJo and his wackness. Know how many NBA players have older siblings that played ball as well? You Fuckin Crabs!!
NEWYORK IS BACK.PROPHECY!! CONGRATS DIGGY!
Wow….That’s gotta hurt. For JoJo, I mean. You had a group you were in heavily promoting yourselves for a minute. You made the rounds. Did the DVDs, etc. And not too many people were really feeling you. Not the Son of Run!!! How could that be? Then all of a sudden….your younger brother steps his bars up in a MAJOR way, has real hardcore heads checking for him, and on the strength of a mixtape that has heavy buzz, and a few freestyles, he gets signed to a major record label at the age of 15. No disrespect…but we see who’s the heir apparent.
