  1. Mook says:

Lupe how about we release the album already. Nobody wants to hear these album snippets at concerts we want a CD!!!

  2. nate says:

if you were at the concert you would.

  3. Drop The Album says:

Just Drop The Album Already. The Songs Ive Heard From It Sound Great.

  4. Mook says:

Yeah maybe if I was at the concert but still CD quality songs > Concert songs.
@Drop the Album if “Shining Down” would have did good on the radio we would already have a Lupe album.
I hate people who worry about air play just release the album. If the songs are good word will get around and there you go AIRPLAY.

  5. Drop The Album says:

@Mooks. yeahhh. fans will buy the album. and like you said word will get around and the airplay will begin

    im feeling this tune.

  6. Fat Boy says:

wow 2010 is going to be the best hip hop year in years and maybe be ever

  7. Eyerone says:

its always funny when fans act if the release date of an album is solely based on a date that the artist picks…

from what i remember, lupe turned in 2 albums to atlantic MONTHS ago.

That’s EXACTLY what happened. I was at his concert last Saturday here in Minnesota. It was CRAZY. “Beautiful Lasers” needs to drop soon! I need an Mp3 of that ASAP.

But yeah, I’m tired of ignorant people on the internet not paying attention. LASERS has BEEN done. Atlantic is holding it up, not Lupe.

It’s weird though, cuz right now, I feel B.o.B (who’s album is INCREDIBLE) is in Lupe’s lane right now as far as the direction of his music. He’s becoming really successful too, very quickly.

I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that, but his album was DIFFERENT, just like Lupe’s stuff is. Atlantic is pushing it, so I don’t know what the hold up is with Lu’s joint. At first I thought it might be because the records are sort of different or not your normal cliche stuff, but maybe it’s something else. Hopefully the success of B.o.B’s debut will light a spark behind Atlantic to get LASERS out too.

  9. jj says:

lu and bob are in the same lane. thats why for atlantic it would be foolish for them to make the fans choose between one cd or the other. they toured together, so alot of fans of both of them would have to make that decision. thus, they wait till they get as much as they can out of bobs album…which could be a couple more months cuz he has some serious singles in the clip…before they drop lasers

  10. JamieLondon says:

I think lasers will drop in august or something.
june 22nd would be a nice date tho, then i can pick up lasers and recovery on the same day and listen to two of the best rappers of our time.

  11. Nathaniel says:

content wise, lupe and b.o.b. are miles apart. b.o.b. is your friendly neighborhood rapper. lupe says shit that generally gets confined to the extreme underground. i don’t even know if mos def goes as deep as lupe…he can be like immortal technique with less curse words, more energy, flows, metaphors, and musicality.

i mean, are u niggas paying attention? as time goes on, lupe gets more and more controversial. what do you think State Run Radio is about? and what will clear channel think of that? a couple nights ago he wore a t-shirt with a crossed out swastika on it. the LASERS “A” is the fucking Anarchist political party insignia.

yes he turned in the album, no he’s not holding it up. the shit was done over the summer if you remember, then he went back in….turned it in at the start of 2010. if atlantic is holding it, which they are, it’s probably because they’re considering the potential consequences that could come from this nigga getting too much mainstream success. The Cool went Gold. rappers as conscious and sociopolitically aware and DEDICATED as lupe is don’t go Gold. nor do they win grammy’s and form super groups with kanye west and pharrell. pay attention. politics, politics, politics. he’s dangerous to a music business run like ours is.

  12. Nathaniel says:

    okay…im saying.

they wouldn’t even give this nigga the funding he needed to do LupE.N.D. …that’s why he scrapped it cuz he couldn’t do it, artistically, how he intended. now ask yourself where the funding has been for LASERS. it’s coming, right? i don’t see no marketing push, no radio spots, no video for shining down or im beamin, no BET, no MTV, no nothin. i wonder what he had to do to get this tour going.

i think lupe be feeling betrayed by fans because they stay getting mad at this nigga when he’s had to switch gears like 3 times in the last couple yrs. LupE.N.D. was 3 fucking discs. damn near done and scrapped, all due to atlantic. forces beyond his control. instead of niggas using their brains and thinking about the timelines in all this shit, they start blaming the nigga they can see. “waa waa waa he dont put out enough music waa waa waaa. LupE.N.D. = scrapped. The Great American Rap Album = scrapped. that Japanese Cartoon project? prolly scrapped too. im sure if he sold himself out and succumbed to the label pressure yall would have an album or two by now. but noooo, yu don’t want him to do that do you? nope. get a clue niggas.

    @Nathaniel
