The most hated man in rap sat down with Sway yesterday and gave his side of the story regarding Guru’s final days. He denies that he and the Gifted One were romantically involved and stands by the authenticity of the rapper’s letter.

This man is taking away from the legacy of Guru and overshadowing his loss to hip hop and his family with his whackness. who is giving him airplay right now, and why? Uurgh, I just dont want to hear it. I dont even want to know what he sounds like…God forbid I have bad dreams because of it. He just oozes bad vibes. Its terrible. What “loyal friend” would let those be a man’s last words to his family and friends…even if there were problems. If the letter is authentic and if they were that close, he deliberately failed to facilitate that Guru passed in a positive head-space. That’s a terrible thing for Guru was positive in his teachings and gave his life to upliftment.

Fuck Solar for ruining Guru’s legacy (in my eyes at least). The fact that Guru was so close to him makes it hard for me to continue to respect Guru and listen to Gangstarr’s music with the same appreciation. And I’m 33, I grew up on Gangstarr’s music and own all their shit. This dude should be blackballed from the hip hop community and forced to go into hiding.

You know i don’t like doing this but if you go on allhiphop.com they have an interview with Guru from last year and he was very confrontational towards premo. he say’s ex-dj in the interview and was very dismissive of gangstarr. I would hate to add more questions after his death but there relationship seems very suspect. Give it a read it sheds alot of light on what’s going on now. Sorry Rapradar my bad plugging the competition but it was an interesting read.
Regardless of whether guru wrote it or not solar seems suspect and didnt have guru best interest at heart. Not one good thing is ever said about him!!

If you read his body language (including the nervous licking his finger and touching his ear act) you can tell that he’s falsifying his statements. Sway went into it and exposed the truth pretty much when he mentioned to Solar that the letter talks alot about him. Solar can dodge whatever question he wants, but Guru had more history with DJ Premier than him. Guru, to me, owes a lot to Premo, so why in the hell would he bash someone who he REALLY came up with on his deathbed? On top of that, refer to him as his ex-DJ???? F*** that!! When death knocks at your door, there shouldn’t be no “EX” nothing! Everybody mentioned it and knows what bullsh** smells like.
I’m upset by the fact that really Guru is gone, and he’s a pioneer of hip hop, so why tarnish his legacy that him AND DJ Premier built? A legacy you weren’t apart of? Only die-hards knew you from producing sh** on those Jazzmatazz albums and being his “business” partner, but the rest of us Hip Hop Heads will remember Guru as DJ Premier’s REAL right hand man, and they’re names are synonymous to Gang Starr. If you take a look at the interviews they did together it seems as though Guru would only say statements rehearsed with Solar prior to filming. If Guru was being manipulated because of a possible addiction etc then I feel sorry for his family.

Having worked with Guru and Super Pro-doucher Solar I can say first-hand that Guru was one of the sweetest and most professional cats I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Conversely, Solar was the most abusive, unlikeable piece of shit I’ve had to endure in my 32 years on this planet. This was three years ago and it’s a shame to see that Guru lived and died under the yoke of this monster. I passed on working with Guru again because I wouldn’t subject myself to Solar’s unbelievably fucked up behavior.
This week we lost the King of Monotone, G.ifted U.nlimited R.hymes U.niversal. Thank you for being a decent man in an industry full of soul-sucking opportunists, and an inspiration to millions of people for almost two decades. You will be dearly missed.
