For years, Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex has been called every name under the sun for championing certain artists. Promoting his new show Full Throttle on Angie Martinez’s afternoon drive today, The Kingpin admitted to favoring New York artists.

And this is a story because….?? How is this relevant in 2010? I mean when was the last time this guy could credibly claim to have broken a new record. He’s on air with Enuff right demonstrating that he don’t keep up with music at all: he was acting like he never heard the remix for Khaled’s “All I Do is Win.” WTF??!?

Well he does support all NY artists just one and we all know who he is!
He’s a radio personality and a very good club DJ… He’s never been a new artist finder and a “break a record” DJ…

I love how JERZZZ is speaking for the entire West Coast as if he knows everybody feel out there. Im from ATL and its nothing new that DJ’s from a certain coast will play only that type of music. In the south you RARELY ever hear anything from NY, Not cuz what they got not hot but more so we bring the club music to the radio and 96% of club music is bullshit so thats what they play. I hope Flex finds a underground NY artist that can spit and break they record. I need some hard core hip hop in my life. Everytime i turn on the radio it feels like im getting dumber and dumber!
