Ice Cube’s still tired of the ass kissing. For a majority of his career, the rapper has had rocky relationship with radio. In fact, he touches on the situation on his new single “I Rep That West“. “All you West Coast DJ’s check your wrist, if you scared to add the big fish to your playlist.”
With his ninth solo album I Am The West dropping July 13th, Cube tells Rap Radar that he’s still doesn’t know what it takes to get his records played on your FM dial. Turn on the radio and see what you’re missing.

Let’s be honest though…he’s most def a legend, first ballot hip hop HOF’er…but Cube has been wack for damn near 10plus years now…Ever since he got on that garbage “Don Mega” b.s. after the first WSC album, he’s been wack…his trouble at radio sounds like radio people that have too much respect for the rapper who Cube USED to be, to tell him flat out “Naw…we ain’t playing that cause ain’t nobody trying to hear that mess”

Times have changed Cube. If “It was a good day” were to come out today it wouldn’t make the radio right now either. Radio these days is pop/commercial shit only. And that’s not what he does so why does it even matter. I mean he could do what ever other artist does and make 1 or 2 radio friendly tracks and fill the rest with that hardcore shit…(c) Snoop (c)PAC (c) DRE…It’s not a bias. It sucks lately seeing Cube acting like a oldhead dissing the new West when he should help put them on especially since they respect him so much and now begging for radio play.

Ice cube has NEVER been wack anybody who says that doesn’t know what they are talking about. Those Don mega albums were nice. every album he’s ever dropped has been 4 mics atleast. Some people are just negative.
