While out on his European tour, Justin took the time to talk to Soul Culture about the battles between the Internet and the record companies. He also credits eskay from Nah Right for building a brand and not just postin’ free music like far too many of these other sites. Oh, don’t be mad. Ha.
True…

He’s dick riding Eskay. I post music because I love to post music. I post shit I like. I agree with some of Just Blaze stuff, but not all.
Lol Eskay does something other then post links? I kid, i kid.
You’d be lucky to get more than two sentences from an Eskay post. What kind of branding is that?
Not sure how Eskay is building a brand….Just Blaze is off the wall with a lot of his shit, he comes across as made hateful and petty most of the time.
Cosign DoeMoney when it comes to posting music. Hey YN, are you gonna post that new M.I.A.? Remember that editorial?
There is no difference between posting free music, because you have a “brand” or not. You still giving away the music, what makes one right? If I build a brand, can I steal shit from Just Blaze and sell it on the street and he won’t get mad. Eskay, while I respect him seems to get a pass that I find comical.
Eskay’s fat-ass does 2 things, copy/paste and post links.
He does have some points….this can be big or both parties if they work todether…

I agree DoeDollarz. Eskay and Nahright are no different than the average music blogger including this one. The only reason these sites get so much press is because they know people are use to write for magazines. Besides that, they’d be just average at best. I like to read this site because of some of the actual written articles from Elliot which I find to be pretty cool. He also get’s different music than nahright…sometimes. But for the most part, everything intersects and there is mass crossover. I mean, if you look at atll the so-called “great” hip hop sites like those in the New Music Cartel, Complex Media dunns and such. Notice how they post the same exact shit…which Just Blaze kinda elaborates on.
I personally think that the music blog game is indeed saturated but it’s a personal preference to me. It’s a little hard to be individualistic when you don’t have a team of good people on your site.
For all the music blogs out there, just because that shit is posted on worldstarhiphop, this site, nahright, hip hop dx or what have you, i advise you to listen 2 the shit before you post. Alot of times the shit is garbage and is only getting pushed because of the inside prescence of some major or mid-major record label. Think about it.
Also isn’t AO & Smith the same jackasses that have been posting links all over Hiphopdx? Get the fuck outta here. You guys suck…
come on nahright and say that shit
Hmmmm… While I’ll give Eskay credit for what he has done with NahRight… it also comes with a negative side too! Most of the guys or should I regulars on NahRight who blog and comment have very limited knowledge of HipHop Music and the culture itself! As an old head that has been living within our culture for over 25 years its disgusting to read alot of the ignorance/lack of knowledge the cats on that website post. And BTW you can’t have an opinion without knowledge about the subject!
silkcityp come to nahright with that shit
thats whats good now nigga taking shots on other sites
fuck boy

Lil Boy I’m on there on the regular… and I know the truth you hurts u babyboy… but its true! There some dudes on there that know whats up, but I’m willing to bet most of the “YOUNGINS” that get on there be loafin, talking that dumb shit…. Sorry I hurt your feelings!
you fuck boy
I cosign with SilkCityP. That dude that’s pumping up Nahright is a loser. Sure Nahright is a good spot for hiphop but it’s over blown. Actually, I like to come to RapRadar and read the great articles even though I think Jay-Z & 50 Cent t-bag’s Elliot Wilson on the regular. I think Elliot is such a stan even though he writes great articles. I don’t think he’ ll ever live that down that shot he took at theGAME awhile back.

^^^^^^^
What would happen then sir? Would you e-jump me in the comments section? GTFO here with that shit. Motherfuckers are entitled to there own opinion. Fact is, Nah Right is no different than any cut/paste link blog out there.
DoeMoney and SilkCityP are spot on with their comments.
@DoeMoney
Thank You my brother! Some common sense and keepin it 100!!! These websites stan and bias themselves towards certain artists way too much! Good music is good music, and bullshit is bullshit! Regardless of who the artist is, what region they come from! I’m from the era where we don’t catagorize regions!!! I didn’t grow up listening to Southern Hip Hop or NY Hip Hop or West Coast Hip Hop, I grew up listening to Hip Hop Music in general! That conversation never even came up!
bring that tough talk to nahright fuck boy

“Oh, don’t be mad”
ANOTHER JAY REFERENCE!!!! U AND JAY’S “STANSHIP” I TELL YA!!!! HA!!!!
DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!
Yep, the music blog game is getting like the radio spin game. It’s turning out to be only associations that get artists on these days. There’s a million mcs way nicer than some of these so-called artists that get rotational spins. I don’t care where a cat is from. If he’s dope he’s dope. If he sucks he sucks. But don’t tell me a dude is dope just because he is posted on 30 fucking blogs that just posted the same shit because it was the “in” thing to do. GTFO here with that shit. But that’s just my opinion.
Also, i’ve been seeing alot of old heads coming back. I think that shit is cool but there’s a reason why they’re resurfacing and it ain’t on G.P.

[…] Continuing his conversation with Soul Culture, Just explains why your remixes these days have lost their true essence. “The remix became a marketing tool – and a BDS [Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems] spin generator,” [which calculates multi-platform airplay figures] “so the artform got taken out of it and the dollars got put into it… If you change the beat, the computers that run BDS don’t pick it up as the same song. So the whole point is to get more spins…” […]
