Jamaica Tourism Board Vex With Drake

Apparently, Drake’s new video “Find Your Love” has ruffled a few feathers down in Kingston. Jamaica’s minister of tourism, Edmund Bartlett said the rapper should’ve depicted the country in a more positive light.
“Care has to be taken by all, including our creative artists, in portraying images of our destination and people,” Bartlett told the Gleaner. “Gun culture, while not unique to Jamaica, is not enhancing (the island’s image).”

lmao @ this story. theres no way to make them all happy, i guess you need to stop trying to. ITS ONLY ENTERTAINMENT!

  3. No artists are required to abide by the moral standards of a country’s government. While it may be true that Drake didn’t portray Jamaica in a positive light, he didn’t take creative freedoms and make up falsities. What he showed, while probably stereotypical, is a reality in Jamaica and many other countries around the world. You’re probably thinking “what he showed” was the gun culture but in fact, it wasn’t; the point of the video was to get the girl. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out as smoothly as planned, which in fact, is much more of a universal reality than gun culture.
