Artists are picky and Raekwon’s no exception. At his listening session this week, Shallah named five cuts (“Mean Streets”, “House Of Flying Daggers”, “Kiss The Ring”, “Penintentary” , “Have Mercy”) off Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 that he felt were overlooked. In the closing seconds, he sends a shout-out to Chris Webber for mentioning “Surgical Gloves” on TNT.

Surgical Gloves was overlooked? By whom? I championed the shit out of that track to people asking me about the album – pretty sure cats like Eskay were all over that one, too! ALC beat was MEAN, and Rae came correct on that one.
Only one I agree with was house of flying daggers was criminally slept on. Those other tracks I wasn’t feelin as much as the others. Catalina and black mozart are the fuckin shit.
Did anyone else like ob4cl2 better than the original?
it wasnt slept on by me. i still bump the album til this day. so many good joints on the new album. i still like the first one better tho

I’m not gonna front, I slept on “house of flying daggers” at first, but after having the CD for about 2 weeks, my mind was changed. And “kiss the ring” grabbed me instantly. That beat is so hard.

I like Rae but I think he’s way off base about his work being slept on (just look at the previous comments). I think he’s refering to more mainstream attention. Which is little outta pocket because he has a loyal fan base.
I wasn’t blown away by the music I heard but clearly he made an impact on those that love his music.
How the fuck was this album slept on when it was in all the year-end “best of” lists?
If I remember correctly, it also charted well in its first week; keep in mind, Jay-Z dropped Blueprint 3 that same day.
“Baggin’ Crack” was my favorite on the whole joint. Erick Sermon ripped that track.
