Honestly, Neyo BEEN dope. The dude quietly got nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year in 2008 for that Year of the Gentleman. Not R&B album of the year, just album of the year against Coldplay and Radiohead and shit. That was a dope album too. That whole shit felt like the ghost of Michael. (especially “Part of the List” and “Stop This World”)

Ok, maybe Ne-yo sounds a little like him (on a couple of adlibs, and maybe when he sings falsetto) on some records but is it a bad thing that dude has enough talent to be able to, at times, channel one of the most talented musicians of all time? It’s not on every record. (“Miss Independent” “So Sick” “Closer”, three of his biggest records don’t sound anything like MJ records) And dude has consistently put out dope material of mad styles (not even including the hits he wrote for other artists). Honestly, he’s mad slept on.
