A few days ago, Marshall took to the stage for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Above, he performs Recovery‘s “Not Afraid”, while below he recites “Stan” and his verse from “Forever”. June 22 is almost here.

I’m not a hater… Or a fan to be honest… But I always had respect for this dude’s talent. I just can’t figure out why he gave up on his live performances. He’s been lipsynching every performance since the last album… I don’t get it…

yea… i think the album cut is playing in the background while hes rapping and its so loud that when he stops rapping you could tell the difference that something is off.
just not comfortable calling it lip syncing though as i define that as not saying anything at all.

When he’s rapping, and then takes his mic away to breathe, yes you can still hear the line, but not as loud as when he’s rapping. Besides, I doubt he even gives a shit about performances like these. For real. Look at the Grammys and the Voodoo Festival. He raps live without the track behind at big performances or concerts.

This album is ok but I can’t stand ems voice for an whole album again he’s not for me I’be heard everything he has to say we know u hate your mom we know u love your daughter and we know u been on drugs so please say something else and stop rocking out. You people are fools.. he is not lip syncing!!! He raps the whole verse, if u think otherwise you’re retarded!! Of course mr.porter finishes his sentences sometimes but thats how they perform. He been doing it since proof.. And in the chorus his vocals are layered, so eminem sings along to the lower section but of course he aint a singer so he puts the mic away from his mouth so his voice doesn’t come through completely but he is still singing along..
I called it ‘lipsynching’ because they got the album track playing in the background instead of the TV track… Porter’s mic is always on an way up so you hear the ad libs loud an clear an it sounds like a ‘live’ song. Em’s mic is definitely on, but he’s half-assing the vocals an more concerned with his swag… He’s been doin this for a minute an it just seems strange cause he’s got serious skills on the mic. hey guys listen up. he’s not lip syncing. he’s rapping over his own voice just in case he misses a word cuz if he does then it screw up the whole song yeah? also sometimes during live performances he has a background rapper to make it sound more like the original track, cuz when he records he records his voice multiple times different versions and puts it all together to play at once, &obviously he cant do that live. k so back off on the lipsyncing accusations.
