Funny as much as ya’ll seem to complain: you’re right there when he drops something new…As for the quality…don’t get too caught up in the shiny over-compressed junk you’ve been served in the past…Most of the time these cust don’t even need to be mastered like that. Mastering is new to hip hop…Cassette tapes weren’t mastered and were waaaay better than the crap today…Just saying

I love listening to some Jay Elect and like you guys I wish there was more of it for me to listen to but none of us have any idea what it takes for him to write those rhymes. Why do you think Nas drops roughly every 2 years? This ain’t micky mouse rap, no nursery rhymes. you see the books he reads? I love this shit, and I appreciate when an MC takes his time. Anything he’s touched so far has been great to me and I’m sure that’s what it’s going to be in the future. No matter how impatient you guys are, it’ll all go out the windo when he puts records out. nevermind Drake, you’ll thank Jay Electronica later (not hating on drake, just thought that was a good way to end this comment)

This kid really is some type of anomaly. It’s a great article and a bit telling of what kind of character Electronica is off his music. I’m really interested to see where he goes. I don’t think Hip-Hop has ever seen an artist grow so much out of the spotlight before making their way into it (if that makes any sense). I mean, what if we don’t get an official debut album for the next 5, 10 years from Jay and then at 40, 45 years old he goes on to making some of the greatest Hip-Hop we’ve ever heard? I mean, why not? How old is Neil Young, still putting out great music?

This dude is dope however, I see more interviews on this dude than music. Im tired of hearing how dope someone say they are and they’ve only rapped on 3-5 songs. I hope this guy isnt the 2010 Saigon. Keep tellin us how classic and dope their debut album will be but will never ever hear it
I don’t think its that he doesn’t “want” it really, I just think that, he’s 34 year old…hes not a new cat trying to get put on, he feels he has nothing to prove, and he’s already chased a deal for many years so now he’s just gonna do what he wants. If you listen to him rhyme its obvious he’s not new to this, and his catalog is quite spotty, but that’s because he’s lived/worked so many different places. I just as much as anyone would love to hear a full project from him (Act 2 anyone?) but I won’t lie, even with the tracks I do have, he has yet to dissapoint. Basically he’s playin it old school…release good hiphop, people will want it regardless if its a full length or a single. I won’t lie, by him doing that, I look forward to seeing what he’s going to drop next.
I will admit, I don’t get that same feeling I felt when I 1st heard exhibit c anymore though. I thought for sure Act 2 was soon to follow…but its 6 months later. we’ll just have to see what he does next.

Jay Electronica is the real deal. Watch him live. He stole the show at the roots pinic. The dude comes in peace and kills it on the mic. All you eminem fans go back to TRL you teeny poppers. Eminem is not intelligent rap. Jay Electronica challenges his listeners.
I’m sorry. but i just think its ill that dude is 33-34 and it seems like he JUST started gettin shine? Not hating. In fact the opposite. I love to see talent transcend challenges (that really SHOULDN’T be challenges) like age.
