Drake let the Henney do the talking last night and revealed that he began recording his sophomore album. Hopefully it doesnt interfere with his R&B mixtape or joint album with Weezy. Kill everything, indeed.
Can’t wait for that shit is gonna be epic and he has that collab with weezy comin!!

Ya’ll dudes are seriously delirious. Of course Thank me Later was a flop. Drake and his team negotiated a great record deal:
* Drake got a $2 million advance (I’ll give you a moment to read that again)
* Drake retains the publishing rights to his songs and only pays 25% of his music sales revenues to the label as a “distribution fee”
Which is with the industry being in the state that it is, highly unusual. Be he negotiated it based on his hype and the resulting assumption that he would do crazy numbers and that Thank me Later would be flying off the shelves like hot cakes. But not only did he Fail to go platinum is his first week, he didn’t even go gold. Then the next week his album sales dropped 65% while the average percentage drop for a CD is 50%. His singles never popped off like he thought they would and the album to be honest is a sub par product compared to his official mixtapes.
So if you wish to ignore these facts, yes his album was a success. Let’s hope his next album will be an even bigger success.

Drake FAAAAAAAAAAAR from flopped and i think its hilarious how people who claim not to be “haters” are so blatantly doing JUST that. lol. Drake made the mistake of joining a label when he already had EVERYTHING going for him before that. He had the chance to make music/entertainment industry HISTORY and instead he chose to pad his wallet by getting that “safezone” support from a label. The catch 22 he ran into is that even though he had financial backing, the label (which they f***g do everytime it seems) slowed him down from doing 180 on the autobahn to being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. In other words, his RECORD BREAKING BUZZ WAS NOT capitalized on so instead of selling 2million records he sold half a mil……HE STILL SOLD HALF A F****G MILLION RECORDS YOU HATIN ASS CRABS!?!?!?? lol.

A “FLOP” is really relative these days and it’s based on the artists and the artist label’s expectations. I wouldn’t call it a flop just because he’s practically blowing everybody else out the water in regards to album sales. But I’m on the outside looking in. It’s possible that Drake and his record label thought it was a flop. I don’t see how they could though given the state of the music industry and how hard it is to sell albums these days.

Kanye West College Dropout – 441,00 copies. He sold more than Ye and that was back in 2004 when shit didn’t leak like it does now.
Kanye West 808s Heartbreak – 450,000 copies. Right there with an established artist.
The dude was right up there with Jay-Z…Blueprint 3 sold just over 476,000 copies…sold more than Jay’s AG. Sold more than any Wayne album except for Tha Carter III. AND THIS WAS HIS FIRST ALBUM!! Stop letting our hate influence your opinion on his sales. Be logical, please.
