So, you want to be in the music business? Well let Jim Jones school you to some things. Over the last several weeks, we’ve documented Jones conducting his music business courses at a Brooklyn High School. FUSE was in the classroom too and filmed Jim during the first three weeks. He also brought guest speakers, manager Yandi Smith, Steven Victor, and E1 president Alan Grumblatt to the sessions. Learn more after the jump.

Aye I digg it. It helps the young artist, entrepreneurs, bussiness majors how shit is runned and maybe they can start their own companys and start really owning there music on a whole (fuk a sony. geffen, interscope, virgin non blacked owned music company, fuking billionaires off our talent) . We need the new breed of Russell Simmons, L.A Reid, Kevin Liles, P.Diddys to step up and takeover and this type of classes will spark it. So bigg ups to those who give back. Now Jimmy tell them about them 360 deals….those are your “Raping u Records” deals, get a lawyer if you handed that type of contract.

I’ve never really been a fan of Jim Jones myself, but i’m glad to see him giving back to the community. Of course he’s probably getting paid for it, theres no doubt in my mind, but at least he’s getting paid for doing an unselfish act unlike so many other hip hop employees out there. THIS IS EXACTLY THE SORT OF THINGS THAT 2-PAC WAS TALKING ABOUT WHEN HE RAPPED ABOUT HELPING OUT ANOTHER BROTHER INSTEAD OF KILLING ANOTHER. And even tho I dont care for Jim Jones as an artist I do believe he’s the right person for the job as far as teaching the youth about entrepeunership* and all the different aspects of running your own buiseness…
