Sean Penn isn’t the only one that’s not supporting Wyclef’s bid for President. Former bandmate Pras, tells 1515 that he’s not convinced Clef is the right man for the job. Instead, he’s endorsing opposing candidate, Michel Martelly.
“Listen, I love Wyclef to death..we came up together, we grew up together, we basically called each other cousins. But the reality is this, we need a real leader. Not just a regular leader, but a transformative leader. Someone that’s gonna be able to galvanize the Haitians down on the field, the Haitian-Americans, the international community, it’s a collective support — to take this country to the 21st century. And I’m just not convinced Wyclef is the one for that.”
I thought Pras was caught up in Somalia with them pirates?
^ lol
no surprise here. Pras been beefing and hating on Clef. and what a 2-face to say he love him to death when he been ain’t messing with him.

Whether pras has animosity towards wyclef, he is right about him running for president. Just think, obama is stressed being the president of the U.S. Imagine how stressful it is 2 run a third world country.
IT’S FUNNY HOW HE SAID HE LOVES CLEF TO DEATH AND HOW THEY GREW UP TOGETHER BUT THEN SAYS THEIR LIKE COUSINS!!!! LIKE COUSINS??? SHOULDN’T IT BE LIKE BROTHERS PRAS??? HA!!!! THESE NIGGAS BEEN BEEFIN’ FOREVER!!!! STOP FRONTIN’ PRAS!!!!
DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!
Good job, Pras. Clef prolly don’t know shit about politics. Especially after all Haiti been through this year, they don’t need a singer, they need a real leader who gon actually help the country.
this dude Pras making his own chess moves. he knows that if wyclef’s rival gets elected he will hook up Pras with a position for his endorsement. I bet ‘Clef would snub Pras if he was elected. With that said, I suppport Wyclef!! All politicians are self-interested narcissists. so that’s nothing new. BUT, there would be more attention given to Haiti with a high-profile American-raised leader. It would be good for hip-hop and good for Haiti. P.S. why sean penn gonna act like he’s down with the haitians now. you a honky, b.
This is proof that The Fugees will never get back together.
Pras the man who messed up the fugees by always talking against wycleaf and look what happened to our lauren lot’s of drama could be rough on someone with sensitivity . Wycleaf for prez not pras
Hey every good person is not a Great leader. In no way hating on clef. I rather someone with more experience.
IM STILL ROOTING FOR CLEF…..YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT GOOD IMPACT HE CAN HAVE ON HAITI FUTURE BUT MORE OR LESS “BLACKS” NEED HELP THRU OUT THIS COLD WORLD AND SO DOES EVERY OTHER HUMAN———-BIG UP “UPLIFTMENT”
smh…not content with normal everyday failures of the non global catastrophe variety, like ruining the careers of young talented lyricists or helping to destroy a great hip hop group and drive a woman that had the potential to be an icon of her generation towards insanity….Wyclef decides to try his luck at being the head of state of a third world country in the aftermath of one of the most horrific natural disasters in modern history
Yup…nothing about that sounds like a terrible idea…I’m sure it’ll work out great
“nigga, I’m Nas. Niggas is Pras” © Wale
Pras is broke as fuck
Pras just put that Dylan choke on Wyclef.
“Ya too close man!”
@ Brodie
Wale ain’t sold no records, but he’s a decent rapper.
Pras got a couple of Grammy’s and niggas know his parts to the Fugees hits unlike other less talented members of groups (i.e. the niggas besides will.i.am and Fergie in Black Eyed Peas).
Pras got one hit under his belt off his solo debut “Ghetto Superstar”.
An endorsement from Pras should be the last thing Wyclef should be concerned with, because runnin’ for President is probably a tough job.
Imagine President Obama, President Sarkozy, and President Wyclef Jean in a meeting one day. Would Clef start break dancing???
I was in the back of the Brooklyn Museum last night@First Saturday…talked to a lot of people – mostly haitians- who have mixed feelings about Wyclef’s presidency bid. When one woman pointed out that he had no political experience and should stick to singing…her homegurl pointed out that governor of California was a former actor with no political experience and the former governor of Minnesota used to be a wrestling star…..with no political experience.
That was just one example of what people were saying but I would say that the general concensus was that Wyclef is passionate about helping his people….but is passion alone enough.
I don’t think Wyclef should run for President. That kind of responsibility would be overwhelming, especially given the circumstances affecting Haiti right now. Not only that but he would have to retire from rapping. I don’t think the rest of the political world would take him seriously. Imagine him speaking to political leaders, then having to do a concert rhyming afterwards. Come on man lol
Take it easy..
Why are half the comments attacking Pras and not listening to what the fuck he’s saying? Imagine there was a disaster of the Haiti eartyhquakes in the US. Entire infrastructure of the whole country is destroyed. Poverty everywhere, people dying, bodies still on the streets months later… Then all of a sudden Brad Pitt decides he’s going to run for president because he feels so compassionate about it. It’s not about compassion. It’s about having the knowledge to know how to operate the levers of govenment effectively in a time of great need.
I swear half of yall are stupid, talking about Pras’ damn hits. This shit is serious.
