Snoop Dogg was in the studio with Swizz Beatz last night and after wrapping their session, Tha Doggfather announced that his next album will be the sequel to his debut masterpiece, Doggystyle. Bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay.
UPDATE: Yeezy was there too.
That’s suicide! Doggystyle is one of the best albums of all time. So naming your album doggystyle 2 is asking for your album to flop. That’s like being named Micheal Jordan Jr. Every song will be measured up against the first. If if the album is good, I’m sure it won’t be better than the first. Also, I’m getting alittle tired of rapper doing this I.e doggystle 2, BP3, Cuban linx 2, the Carter IV, food & liquor 2, you get the point. Can’t we get alittle more creative with the album titles???

It will sell because of the title (See The Blueprint2/3, Stillmatic, The Carter2/3, Only Built for Cuban Linx2) but it will also set up unrealistic expectations/hype.
This could actually be a good thing.
