What the hell is respect magazine? If Yn backs it i’m down, xxl has not been the same since you left elliot. Waka reminds me of those southern artist albums, you would find in the record store in the 90’s and early 00’s. You would look at the cover and track listing with a blank stare. I can’t front though, thats how I started fucking with gangster pat back in the day.
Pathetic. And not even one mention of Budden MM4 which better than ANYTHING at the moment. And we wonder why sales are down. LOL.

i think its dope- alot of people hate on artists like Waka but his impact is undeniable even if his music isn’t- he was all over the place all summer and was getting crazy love in NY. i’m excited to see what Respect is about as a publication, because right now traditional hip-hop mags have totally fallen off- and contrary to popular belief- everyone isn’t all over the blogs.

I think this is a shocker, but still a decent choice for magaizine called “Respect” for an artist like Waka Flocka who has been consistently putting out hit records since his debut, but musicaly, lacks the respect of his peers. YN knows what he’s doing…
Shocked is the only word, considering the massive amounts of feed dedicated to Jay Elec and whatnot…. And considering the fact that I don’t RESPECT Waka one bit, I would definitely read it b/c of who’s in charge of this magazine… Who knows, maybe he got a piece in this mag that’ll make you respect him (which is why the “Hits>Haters” is the big title on the cover anyway). Hell, if anything, that should tell you what type of magazine it is!!!
YN definitely knows what he’s doing, shock value creates traffic. Its just that when you hear a magazine named “RESPECT”, you wouldnt think you would need tactics like that. Just off the strength of his resume, people will already check out the magazine, but Waka does no wonders for that kind of thing, unless thats the artist one is into.

He sold 100,000. One-hundred-thousand copies of “Flockaveli” were sold. Ask yourself how much of anything J.Cole or Jay Electronica have sold so far. Until that time comes, Flocka has every right to deserve a cover of a rap magazine.

Not brilliant. Just a sign of the times. YN is not smart. He had little choice. B.o.B. is over exposed, Cole & Elec will be better later when more folk hear about the mag. Truth is that there’s not many to choose from. YN basically did nothing. This magazine is in financial trouble from the outset. It’s already going out of business because the name is a loser.
Waka sells magazines…he’s not a talented MC in the technical sense but he’s entertaining. A lot of rappers should take notes. They’ve got skills, but they’re boring.
Look forward to checking the issue out.
