Yesterday it was announced that B.o.B. was nominated for five Grammy Awards. During the nomination ceremony, Janice Llamoca captured a live performance of “Don’t Let Me Fall” and “Nothin’ On You” with Bruno Mars. Afterward, he spoke on the nods. The 53rd annual Grammy Awards airs February 13th on CBS.
Wait, the Grammys are pre-recorded???

I like B.o.B as much as the next man but this album was not Rap Album of the Year worthy. He definitely has limitless potential and in 5 years will be making unbelievable music but he’s not there yet. The album was too much syrupy pop music.
“Teflon Don” on the other hand is a great album. We all know that Em is going to win but Rozay should have at least gotten a nomination for that album.
And while we’re at it, why nominate The Roots “How I Got Over”? I get it. They’re The Roots and it’s sacrilege to criticize them. Yes, it’s a good album, another solid effort by The Roots who rarely disappoint, but it’s not a great album. It’s not “Game Theory” or “Things Fall Apart” or “Illadelph Halflife” and it’s obvioudly not going to win. So why nominate it other than to have some underground/consious hiphop credibility? Why not nominate a deserving album that actually had songs that got played on the radio/in the streets/in the clubs/anywhere?
Congratulations Bobby Ray. Hope you win all 5.
