XXL‘s annual freshman cover should be arriving within the coming weeks, but don’t expect Vado to be apart of it. During Cam’Ron’s interview with DJ Drama on Shade 45, he explains why his protege won’t be a part of the collective.

So Icy Boi! says:
XXL Freshman shit bullshit ain’t nobody blow up from last year cover but Wiz Khalifa

FUCK DIPSET!
jayceon taylor says:
damn smfh this was definitely the year to have vado on it HUHH!?!
There’s no one who really blows up anyway. They become underground sensations cus they dont possess the skill to make mainstream records and all the fans who blow them up on Blog sites never buy their shit cus Blog commenters are made up of bootleggers and broke niggas lookin for download links. Bein on a cover and not excellin to the next level is pointless.

XXL Freshman is not about the next up and comin mainstream artist. Its about puttin the word out about some of the newest rappers comin in the game. N givin real hip hop listeners other shit to listen to, and if one of them happens to blow up then so be it, stop the hate. I bet one of u fake ass rappers wud love be on that cover
AK says:
Cam does know J. Cole was on the XXL Freshman cover and on The Source cover by himself in the same month right?
Black Shady says:
@ AK ; POW!!!!! TALK TO ‘EMMMMMMMMMMMM haha Cole World
Cam’ron is dumb!!!!!!!! I could understand if he asked about Vado making the front cover (and not the back), but asking to be the center of attention? this is just stupid sorry
hmmm says:
2 is better than 1…
its a showcase of 10 freshmen…not 9 and some asshole…
bad business!!!
SMH…….Wouldn’t you want your artist to get as much exposure as possible? 2 covers is better than 1, well that’s what happen when you let another man control your image/career. In my opinion, he shouldn’t be on the cover doesn’t a freshman mean new to the game? He’s been around for a year already WITH 2/3 albums under his belt. Seem as though, he’s reached his peak.
Itz Yourz says:
Should of took that opportunity. Who gets man focus on the freshman edition anyway.

I’m not a vado or cam fan..but this looks like a waisted oppurtunity..as said earlier a lot of these dudes aren’t able to make universal records that cause them to be mainstream or semi mainstream..and mainstream shouldn’t be a scary word cause it can be achieved witout makn an ingnorant dance record..its usually done by makin the most honest music you can not jus recyclin the same thing..it remains to be seen how vado’s career will go but I don’t really see a grammy performance in dudes future..and if that’s not wat he wants then that’s fine too..but to turn down more positive exposure is dumb and a little arrogant..such a missd oppurtunity..personally I feel more pple read xxl nowadays then the source…I kno I do..and like somebody said jcole did both in one month so wats the problem?

shit Pill did Jimmy Kimmel live….i call that mad exposure from what it would’ve been before the cover….they might not blow up the way YOU want them to blow up, but they’re rookies. Everybody can’t be on a teenage tv show on Noggin,Nickelodeon or wherever that shit was on….especially with Pill, every little bit is a lot.

I heard about Pill, Freddie Gibbs & Fashawn and became a fan. I didn’t really buy any of Pill’s music cause I wasn’t impressed like that but I definitely bought Fashawn’s album and Freddie Gibbs’ EP. And I heard about them all through XXL. Fuck it, if you ask me that shit helps artists.
And Donn, I hear what you saying but I really think that you listen to artists that are nationally exposed aka mainstream. I don’t care if someone has a platinum record or a billboard hit. All I give a fuck is good music and I hate people or blog sites like RapRadar.com who abort anything that wasn’t released on a major label.
So if I see someone on the cover, I will check him out. If he makes good music I’m happy with that. There’s still a lot of people who don’t know about Vado and if he’s gonna let Cam control his career, he’ll be nothing but a dope rapper who used to hang around Dipset. Remember JR Writer, 40 Cal?
So if you decline an opportunity to be exposed through some kind of way and gain at least one new fan, that’s just dumb to me.

Man fuck yall. Cam has been doing his thing for a minute. He is a smart business man. He has made a ton of money. Lastly, Dipset fell out, Juelz and Jim did there thing for a minute, and Cam made a rebirth. A successful rebirth. I think yall need to give the man props and let him make his decisions because they are probably right decisions.
basically cam’s sayin vado aint no freshmen. thats all
dont worry about it says:
if you said wiz was the only person who made it on the 2010 cover your an idiot try J Cole Big Sean donnis if people would listen to his lyrics and nips is aight from time to time but to say wiz is the only one to make it is ignorant all he talks about is weed and his tats its old nobody cares he makes club music this is why hip hop has been on a downward spiral because kids respect the rapper they only care about hot beats
