I gotta slam jay-z for not letting this young beginning author who is willing to do his first book on Jay-Z not give him any cooperation??? Whats in it for you??? How about marketing yourself for someone’s book, basically promoting you……did you forget what trying to get you’re hustle on was like Jay?? You wanna make it hard for this kid who obviously admires you enough to get his FIRST book deal & do it on you???? Thats dick move man, and im a HUGE jay-z fan. #thatsfucked
Lmao @ So Icy Boi , No way in hell you’ll catch me handing over my hard earned money to this zack o’malley character to tell me shit about Jay i already know, SMH who sent this nigga ?? I swear these jews stay with a hand in our pockets … this clown propably never heard of Jay until Empire state of mind dropped FOH with that nonsense
@ team lee va stand up , your an idiot
Forbes is not telling the truth they never do.
I agree with “friend”
@Tim Lee VA Stand Up
First of all, Zachary O’Malley is a Forbes staff writer, not a “young, beginning author.” This was not his big break. He makes more than u and I do, every single year.
And why the hell would Jay want to support his direct competition? That guy was writing a book on how Jay Z became Jay Z, which sounds an awful lot like “Decoded”. So yea, “whats in it for me?” seems like a pretty logical question, because I can see an awful lot of ways that that interview could hurt Jay, but exactly zero ways that he could benefit.
He could either promote the enemy, risk his own investment, and risk his image by leaving the story up to some kid, OR he could tell the kid to either bring something better to the table, or go away. Personally, I think he made a wise decision.
P.S. Its not like he sabotaged the other book, either, which is more than many competitors can say. He just didnt offer his help.
