Maybach music is quickly becoming the No Limit of Florida. Ross had a incredible roster of producers. To keep chasing the Lex Luger BMF sound, I think that year is over. If Self Made sounds like remixes of BMF in a blender, then what will give anyone the incentive to rep this album? Self Made needs to be treated in the same way any sampler compilation is treated. Let it be what it is instead of selling it as an epic event. WB/Maybach are silly to keep forcing this recycling of BMF sound back in the streets.
The “Ughh” “Woot” formula is becoming a tad tiresome as well. Ross will need to raise the stakes sonically similar to what Outkast,Kanye & Jay Z did. If Maybach wants to expand as a music brand, they will have to evolve from this sound with the next round of singles. This is Ross’s chance to make that transition. It’s time to exorcise the sonic ghosts of BMF.
