Late last year, Nas said there wasn’t a release date yet for Lost Tapes 2. But now, he tells Sway that due to miscommunication with Def Jam, he’s no longer releasing it. A tissue for your sorrows.
Shame, if heshould have handled his career better, he could be running his own label now.
damn Nas, pull it together man.
DEF JAM JUST ETHER’D NAS STANS INCLUDING ME
can we just get a mixtape or something then nasir?
this is why i hate rappers sometimes.
not because this album aint coming out.

smdh. Not cool. Fuck Def Jam and haters (cough cough @B.Dot)
Nas is a hypocrite when it comes down to music, all this ‘all I need is one mic’ shit, he isn’t all for the fans and music like he wants us to believe. He could drop The Lost Tapes 2 on an independet label with all the creative space he needs. People would pay for that shit at will, there are niggas who drop their shit with a MUCH smaller fanbase. Nas is an established artist, it would be no problem to put something out, I just don’t get why he makes such a big deal outta it.
He wont drop a mixtape cus he need money for Kelis. HipHop will be ok. We got plenty of artist to look forward to
@Donn im surprised you even know who nas is….or is he just kelis ex husband to you? i didnt think pop/radio heads messed with niggas like nas….yu know…since he dont got taylor swift or justin bieber on his hooks
Fuck Def Jam for this….He’s right the time has passed so hopefully his new album will be out sooner than later. Drop Lost Tapes 2 after that….
Oh well…. A mixtape would be nice though, like the one Nas did with Green Lantern did 3 years ago
^That’s it, I’m illegally downloading all Def-Jam releases from here on out.
^That’s it, I’m illegally downloading all Def-Jam releases from here on out.
If y’all remember the letter he released a while back, Def Jam never wanted to give him a budget for Lost Tapes 2. Def Jam had no intent on releasing Lost Tapes 2 despite Nas having two Gold albums with one of them being nominated for a Grammy and the other critically acclaimed. Def Jam is the new rap graveyard.
Smarten Up Nas ( Jay – Z Voice ) : (
Co Sign the top comment @onanigga If Nas would’ve handled his career better and invested in himself he could have his own label/Imprint right now signing other artists with no worry as to when he can drop something. Look at Rick Ross garbage ass, but yet he did the smart thing and created something from nothing. Come On Nas drop a mixtape son! to many social networks for any excuse as to why you can’t drop something for free.
One last thing…
This Aint ordinary bruh! – MoneyMusic410.Com
Jay-Z signed Nas for so Def-Jam can ruin his career…it did.
Def-Jam is the major label for artists to start on, not join later in their career. Look @ all the old ass artists left on Def Jam. Method Man, Ghostface, Nas, none of their albums get any love from Def-Jam or promotion.
Jay-Z signed Nas to Def-Jam with the intention of knowing that Def-Jam was gonna fuck Nas over, and fuck his career up. Its a bitch move on Jay because he’s still angry about Ether. But its also the best revenge he will ever get and the closest he’ll ever get to beating Ether. He still thinks Takeover is a better record he said it on some interview but its not true. Even if Ether had less facts then Takeover, Ether was just straight mocking, going HAM on Jay-Z. All Jay said was “1 Hot album every 10 years” which is a matter of opinion anyway.
Jay is one of the greatest no doubt, same with Nas, but I gurarentee neither of them fuck with each other anymore. Nas obviously realized that Jay fucked up his career with Def-Jam. Jay knows that Nas knows, and I’m wondering why Nas hasn’t gone @ Jay again? probably because it would be to much controversy with Jay’s power. But if Nas does it would set Jay back a little bit with his celebrity friends.
Nas finish your contract with Def-Jam and then join Interscope and sign under Aftermath. Dr. Dre will revive your career. “Who’s the doctor they told you to see when your records weren’t doing to good.”
Also check Nas/Damien Marley album the song “Friends” is a definitely a bunch of subliminals at Jay in Nas’s verse.
^Yeah definitely. Just listened
Nas should ether Jay-Z for that…I mean with REAL ether in his camel face!!!
That friends song is not about jay. You probably think that Wayne 6’7 is about jay too.
^^^^ shut up
From the sound of things, NAS needs to drop Def Jam.
I agree Euro, NAS needs the love and support he had at Sony while maintaining his freedom of creativity. Shady/Aftermath is a Perfect fit for NAS. If NAS was signed to Aftermath from the beginning, his “Untitled” album might have actually been respectively titled the “Nigger” album . I always said NAS and Eminem need to do a track together.
@Ken Kaniff I don’t think Nas should sign to Shady, it be a set back for a veteran like him. Not because he’s bigger then Eminem and Eminem is his boss, but because the fact that Eminem is bigger then Nas, but Nas is still up there as a GOAT. I do think just signing to Aftermath would be good for him. Especially when he already had a past work relationship with Dre when they did The Firm group album that Dre produced, but also because Nas has an issue picking good catchy beats, but he would murk Dre’s beats like no tomorrow, and Dre would also push him into making a hit.
Now I do think if he did sign to Aftermath he needs to get a record with Eminem on his album. That would be so fucking insane. That alone would make him relevant, but working under Eminem as a Shady artist wouldn’t be a good look for him. Aftermath yes, but just a 1 or 2 album deal, 3 max until he can get relevant enough again to stay independent or start his own imprint.
I dont know about him ever doing a record with Eminem for the simple reason that if Eminem kills him which I think he would Jay can always say, “And Eminem killed you on your own shit” But at the end of the day Nas would def have better bars on a track with Em, then Jay did on Renegade.
@MP5 read his verse retard.
Only talking with winners
A loser or two
Got my number
Still they think they real
But they just really awfully bitter
(here he is taking a shot @ Prodigy and Havoc “A Loser or Two”)
Salty n-ggaz Hate the smarter ones
These are the doubters
Who sour ‘bout my run
I barely made it out the slums
My value high Cause I do more than
Rap about a gun
(Here he is talking either bout 50 Cent or still Mobb Deep)
I made money for niggaz
Ya’ll never looking out for none
I helped millionaires get to that very position
Some real millionaires see that’s ill
Cause look at statistics
Real millionaires
And I ain’t talking ghetto riches
Thorough business
You mistreating niggaz
(Talking bout Jay mistreating RocaFella members, and the Ether vs. TakeOver stats
Heard your folks bleed in prison
You ain’t a G
And if you was
I don’t recall
Who would roll with ya’ll
Bunch a f-cking know it alls
Who’s dough is small
(Not sure here)
Look what’s it come to
Our rapport’s good no more
We was good before
Till I saw what type a dude you took me for
We had a chance to take paper down
What I took was more
Because of hatred
Opportunity wasted
(He’s def talking about Jay here. About Jay signing him to Def-Jam and leaving him to rot there)
also the last lines, he’s saying Jay lost his oppurtunity to work together and make money together because he’s still pissed @ Nas bout murdering him on Ether. Meaning “We had a chance to take paper down but what I took was more (If you listen to Jay’s interview after Hot97 first played Ether back in 2001 Jay was on the verge of crying cuz Nas took the throne for best rapper. He might not be a better businessman, but deep inside Jay, he still pissed bout Ether), because of hatred (Jay’s hate) oppurtunity wasted.
Nas ain’t a hustler….can’t stand on his feet
Nas has no one to blame but himself for the conditions of his career.. he should have spent more time on his music and himself as a business and less time on love… WHAT THE FUCK HE GET MARRIED FOR??? Damn Jones… Damn
