This song sucks big time, J Cole has really great lyrics he just doesn’t know to make a good song with those lyrics, his beat selection is weak and he has a hard time coming up with hooks.
He struggles with trying to maintain his lyrical ability, but also trying to make a radio friendly song.

J. Cole is like my favorite rapper I tried to give this song a chance but this is not cole at all he has no life in it even when he peforms it. Fuck the radio nobody is going to hear that song on the radio and be like aw shit I gotta get this nigga album. This song will throw off the whole album. Sometimes its better not to listen to Jay-Z. Remember Jay-Z got more #1 albums then he has #1 singles.

No, listen to his shit, he has great lyrical ability.
Unfortunatley like someone else states, he doesn’t know how to make quality songs using that lyrical ability. I find alot of his songs to be very lacking at times.
Again, theres a reason this guy has been hyped now for 3 years and still no album.
He needs to drop it, hit single or not.

J. Cole wont go that mainstream even with work out and thats a good thing. As long as the rest of the album is straight fire who cares what the singles are. Even if he flops and gets 50k a week, it wont make a difference if the rest of the album is good.

You know you are doing something right when you got haters who are hidden fans on the low. I’ve been checking out various sites, twitter, youtube and ect. to read or see the reaction behind this first “official” single and from how it appears, the core J. Cole fans aren’t with it, however the people who are too keen on J. Cole and especially most of the females love the joint. THESE are the people J. Cole is trying to get their attention for. The single was meant to introduce the casual listener lure them in so they can check out what other songs this dude has. Most artists tend to do this. It’s you are releasing a mainstream album, you have to do a song simple enough for those unaware of who you are to catch a glimpse. You cannot go into underground beast mode off the bat. That never works. And J. Cole admitted it didn’t work with Who Dat last year. He’s not making a mixtape type album. He’s making a balanced album that is for everyone.

his marketing scheme is obvious…j. cole is gonna self leak and promote the few songs on the album that arent very thought provoking and then that gets the ppls attention the most so when they buy the album they will realize that j. cole isnt all about songs like work out (which was a good song in my opinion) and disgusting (the title is describes the song). they’ll realize that he is the next great artist of the decade with songs like lost ones, cheer up, and more of the deeper songs on the album………………….
