Jay-Z Covers The Source

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Jay-Z’s Blueprint,  The Source pays homage with the cover dedicated to his groundbreaking album. The main feature was written by YN and hits newsstands on September 20th.

“After his classic 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt, ignited the streets, dazzled the critics, but didn’t move enough units, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter scrapped his bad marketing plan for a one-album discography and decided to drop a new masterful work each and every year. He emerged center stage with a fervent desire to be #1 in the post “Pac-Biggie” era. No MC ever wanted the throne as much as Hov. If consistency kills, he was the Son of Sam, and by the time he got to his sixth album, his frustrated competitors were firing shots back.”

  24. JJ says:

    Classic album, classic cover…..pause…….full stop!

  25. One of the best albums ever….Took me awhile to decide that but it was a great album. Glad this album lives on. And dude that says Gucci is the greatest is tripping because Gucci couldn’t hold a torch to Jay-Z lyrically or in sales. I like Gucci but never can I say the greatest. Jay-Z still the best rapper alive. Wayne was on track for it but after the disappointments of Tha Carter 4 and Sorry 4 the Wait he took a pit stop on that road.
