Love em or hate em, Nicki and Wayne hit em where it hurts, plain and simple. Hot 97 is not doing this shit for the fans, they’re a business just like everybody else. They want money. They entered into a partnership with Nicki and YMCMB to blow up their event, and reaped the benefits of that partnership. Once the money was made and they had the people in the seats, one of their own ran off at the mouth and disrespected Nicki (i.e. a major reason for the money they stood to make from the event). That’s unacceptable. People are saying Nicki should have gone out there anyway and said “fuck rosenberg” or some shit. That would have been a childish move, because it’s wouldn’t have hit Hot 97 where it hurts. Since they’d already made money off Nicki’s name, the only way to hit them back was by hurting their reputation. Not performing hurt the reputation of the Summer Jam event and Hot 97 itself. Their show was essentially a disaster because they didn’t know how to treat one of their artists with proper respect. The only thing they can do now to save face is blame Nicki, but the damage is done. There’s a reason why almost all the artists on the bill have sided with YMCMB on this….
Nicki is Obviously sensitive about being labeled as pop and is hiding behind sexism. Honestly, if she doesn’t want to wear that shoe (because it really fits) she needs to shut the fuck up and walk it off. Rosenberg was so correct in what he said and he was very particular to point out starships or starshit. It’s not a hip hop song. To say so is a slap in the fucking face. Like I said, she needs to calm down, suck it up and grow up. If she really cared about her fans, she would have performed. I’d also like to point out that Flex wasn’t very good at making his point, which is a little sad, but whatever.

Granted saying what was said on the air before the show wasn’t a smart move, but it wasn’t nearly as damaging to her career as this whole bitch fit of hers was. The fact that she’s come this far and can’t take someone’s “2 cents” with a handful of maturity instead of BLOWING it up on twitter like some spoiled brat shows that she doesn’t deserve the respect her position in the industry would normally demand. Hell she doesn’t even have to be mature about it to earn respect; she could always go the slim shady route and use that 2 cents to her advantage, but she just threw it in the street.
