But because they targeted a very quiet week interms of other big name artist dropping it will give them the opportunity to drive the number 1 album for the week thing … great strategy
Whats more worrying for Rick Ross is that his album was kinda his last chance to use his usual gimmicks and tactics which are already boring a number of hip hop fans … the fans have had enough of the Lex Lugar beats, the same lyrical content , the same features, the same repetitive chorusz and the use of big name features (e.g Andre 3000) to attract attention to him … I mean SIXTEEN is a 8:17 long song that Rick Ross only contributes 02:10 to lol (He starts talkin @ 00:50, starts rapping @ 01:30 and his part in the song ends @ 03:00, the rest of the song including the chorus is Andre) … 5min into the song u 4get it’s a Rick Ross song and his involvement in it.
So I doubt ppl will fall 4the same gimmicks and tactics again.
What we’ve learnt most importantly from his low sales is that … as the old saying goes, YOU CAN LEAD A HORSE TO WATER, BUT YOU CANT FORCE IT TO DRINK. Jay-Z and Diddy and Khalid and Rapradar.com and his insider friends who sat on the MTV panel and crowned him the no.1 act in hip hop … but in the end, we the hip hop fans just didnt buy it (Pun Intended*).
